Any issues?

It is registration time for senior year and I just wanted to clear up a question I have. Would taking two semesters of newspaper (CP Credit) adversely affect my chances of getting into UNC and hopefully their honors program? I have never taken newspaper before, but it is a class that I do have a genuine interest in and I love to write. My senior schedule would end up being something like:

AP Government
AP Calculus AB
AP Calculus BC
AP English 12
AP Chemistry or Biology (2 Semesters)
Newspaper
Newspaper

As you can see, the schedule is still rather demanding and I know that the strength of the schedule will not be the issue. The issue I could see is the appearance of taking two slack-off classes that I have never shown any previous interest in before. Your thoughts?

Your schedule looks quite challenging. Especially if you tie in your experiences in Newspaper (and why you wanted to take it), it will be a plus on your app. Of course, your GPA, test scores, rank, and whether or not you are IS/OOS will have a bigger impact on your admit status.

im taking journalism both semesters, and i got in fine. so dont worry about it especially since the rest of your schedule looks gross haha. they expect you to take courses that interest you

Why are you taking AB and BC?

It is a school requirement.
