*** this is the HIGH SCHOOL LIFE not J. HIGH LIFE!! God...

unlike other posters on this board, i not only suggest u stay here, but that u spend the majority of ur time on the What Are My Chances forum.

^ a recipe for disaster, lol

I'm a jr. Higher! lol! Actually this site helped me in making my decision on witch high school t apply to.

hmm i didn't get that depressed by this site, ppl. i actually gained confidence, etc. of course, i'm not against those who think we jr highers should be off this site, but still i think cc helped me a lot. i actually was really scared and stuff before this, but i'm okay now.

Eh, I get so depressed when I visit the What are my chances forums: kids with 2300+ and 4.0 GPAs getting told that they're not good enough for a community college (OK I'm exaggerating).

But I guess if this site helps you, good.

whoa i have NEVER gotten depressed by this site..i guess that's because i only hang around at financial aid/scholarship forum and the highschool forum??

mann this is the longest thread i ever started....n i have ppl tellign me to *** off T.T

Yeah, prepparent helped me so much. They are very supportive of my decisions! It really doesn't have that much affect on me because I only read certain areas... not the deepressing parts.

I'm an eighth grader. Yell at me all you want, you can't make me leave. Haha.

^^^^^^^^^
i agree

If you kiddies must plan for the future, let me give you some advice.
Treat math and your foreign language classes seriously. For the former, make sure you understand everything, because like 95% of calculus is algebra. For the latter, get a dictionary and a 501 verbs book. Take good notes and practice pronounciation! These two subjects are very verticle and because of this, most "higher level" coursess are filled with helpless juniors/seniors who are destined to fail.

Hm... yeah stapler is right. Extremely right. About 70%+ of my Calculus class doesn't understand what's going on much of the time... including the day before/during tests. Even when they ask the teacher out of class. Me and the others who do usually understand things don't mind explaining things to them, but even then they don't get it right on tests. It's too bad. The teacher is extremely good and extremely smart, but I guess it goes over their heads.

And in Spanish... there are some people who have a very hard time understanding the teacher... because he speaks Spanish the entire class. Though this is less of a problem as it is in Calculus.

In conclusion... study your math! And improve in English, that's important too. Because you can apply better essay writing/rhetoric/etc. skills in basically any other class.

here's some more advice.
If u get a B+, that's like failing. Then u can just kiss top schools good bye and go to ur community college down the street.

Haha. Exactly.

But don't worry, no pressure. You can still get good jobs with a B+. Like zoo elephant manure cleaner.

hah i just visit What Are My Chances to laugh at people!!!!
how ridiculous it is to have a job, take 5 ap classes, volunteer 10 hours/wk, do two sports, be in 7 clubs (3 pres)...
Get a life. lol JK..:D

anyway i wish i had found this site earlier

i didn't even know SAT existed untill softmore year

I joined the site near the end of my 8th grade year...mainly because my friend ( who is currently a sophomore) needed help looking for scholarships (she's already looking because she knows she'll need it) and saw stuff about prep schools, including my current school...

i found this site midway thru freshman year. it's warped my mind quite a bit, but it's also given A LOT of useful information. so if you're using it to stay informed about high school, sats, scholarships, etc., that's great! it's never too early to start. just avoid the chances forum :P

I think we should give the junior high schoolers a break. If they want to get a early start, then go for it. I think that it's awesome.

If the middle schoolers are going to plan for the future, they should be crystallizing their knowledge of grammar, math, and other subjects so they can ace these evil AP courses and have ample time for ecs.

REVIVAL!!!!!

yes.
