any jr. high or lower grades here???

please continue the thread if you are in jr. high (aka middle school) or even in lower grade....

noooooooooooooooooo.

god. get the **** out of here

Turn off the computer, kid.

A lot of people say freshman really shouldn't go on here for their own mental health, and I'm not sure I agree. But 8th grade or lower? Freaking insanity. You'll kill yourself.

we need a kiddie board..

haha, I do agree on the part where freshman shouldn't be allowed on her for mental health reasons. I'm not even sure this board is safe for anyone to use who has an ounce of feeling...

i kinda understand younger ppl not comming here...but by insanity or mental health what do you mean?? who has an ounce of feeling...?

well i thought i saw some ppl who were applying for boarding high schools and stuff, so thought there might be some ppl like that. no offense, though.

hmm, I just figured that no one younger than a junior or so would come here because it doesn't really apply to them...

Whatev.

Get out of here... reading other ppl's stats here will destroy you. It will make you think that you need at least a 3.8 just to get in community college. Close the browser and go hook up with some ninth grade girl if you want a taste of high school. This is not the place to be.

it's really not. this is such a depressing web site...

i got home from the PSATs today thinking i did alright then I read the PSAT thread and find out i got four wrong, which got me down for an afternoon...

however, since this is the 'high school' section, shouldn't all high schoolers be included?

"it's really not. this is such a depressing web site.."

If by depressing, you mean SOULLESS..

If you're looking for info on boarding schools, that's fine, but please, for your own sake, don't venture out of the high school forum. This place is a madhouse from which you won't be able to find your way out.

Actually, I came here last year when I was in 8th grade. >.> I'm sure that there are middle schoolers here considering that there is/was a applying to prep school topic for the class of 2010 (That's 8th grade by the way).

i kinda understand younger ppl not comming here...but by insanity or mental health what do you mean?? who has an ounce of feeling...?

Ah, self-esteem. You'll think that your 4.0, ONLY ~5APs, and captain of every team at your school and blah blah and because you're Asian and a violinist means you are a failure and that you're destined for your local CC and will never get out EVER AGAIN! AHHH!!!!!!

But hey! You should be having fun and figuring out what you like to do and all that fun h.s. stuff - not worrying about college! Come back in junior year!

LOL!!!!! yea very true!

^ ditto
like I said...this place is a madhouse.

I'm glad I found this site my freshman year. It motivated me to do well and gave me ideas (like AP scholar awards and how interesting clubs can be). If you aren't in ninth grade yet, just remember to take the most challenging courses in the subjects that interest you. Then bookmark this site and come back to it a year later.

I wouldn't even touch this site until freshman year. Had I been on this site in middle school, I'd have a heart attack. Middle school kids should get a waiver signed, saying CC isn't liable for injury or death.

I found this site before my freshman year and made a whole bunch of big plans for high school only to realize that everything is much harder than it has seemed at first. I made some good choices having this "CC background" and am generally on the right track, but I certainly didn't accomplish anything that I saw on all the chances posts. Looking through this site at the tender age of 14 scared me, yes, but also made me more realistic than a lot of other harvard-hopefuls in my school. So I say - let little kids see what college admission is all about.

worth2try, not every middle schooler is as mentally resistant to trauma as you. This site could send people into comas!

i found this site when i was doing college research about december of my junior year. i started to understand its horror then. a friend of mine who was a senior came into school looking really depressed about a month after he had been deferred from hopkins.

"hey, buddy, you look terrible. what's going on?"
"...well.. it's just not fair ..."
"oh, no, have you been up till all hours of the night reading posts on college confidential?"
"this girl with a friggin' 1200 got into hopkins! how is that possible?!"

luckily, he got into case and recovered from his bout of addiction to CC. unfortunately, i have not.
