Hi
I wanted to learn about Kenyon through the eyes of someone who is studying there currently. Is there anyone willing to answer my few questions? I will be PMing you.
i am, you can pm me!
@zmpdun hi I would pm you but I think you have to be a junior member to do that. I was wondering, how much does the kenyon meal card cost?. I’m having some trouble finding that information on the website.
hi! “meal card” is slightly misleading because it implies that there are different options of plans you can choose, but kenyon actually just has one set “plan” that’s included in your tuition. so we don’t have swipes or anything, you just go to the dining hall whenever it’s open. i know some people might not like that because you don’t have the option to choose the cheapest plan like you can at other schools, although it is nice to not worry about running out of swipes and going hungry.
Yes, your KCard is just like a debit card you or your parents can load money onto and use it in places on campus other than Pierce—which is free (well, comes with your tuition.) So like for ice cream at the Bookstore, a sandwich at the Gambier Deli, coffee at Wiggins, a meal or drinks if you’re of age at the new Mexican restaurant on campus, the Kenyon Inn for a burger, or The Village Market (which is like a little grocery store.)
@zmpdun or anyone from Kenyon - is there any kind of first-year program or do you just jump right in with your courses?

Not sure if this is what you mean, but there’s a 5 day orientation.
