Kenyon Meal Plan

Can anyone enlighten me on the meal plan at Kenyon? Also, where do students eat late night since Pierce closes early?

Kenyon’s meal plan is simple and easy… one option, one price, all you can eat. Pierce has so many options—fresh, healthy food, Almost all is locally grown—lots of variety. You can enter as many times as you’d like throughout the day with your student ID. Other options (not on the meal plan) include Wiggins street coffee (coffee, sandwiches, salads etc) and the village market (hotdogs and sandwiches.) The old Gambier Deli will be opening next month along with a Mexican bar/restaurant. A nicer restaurant (Kenyon Inn) is also on campus.

Do you know what type of eatery the Deli will be? My S was saying a burger joint would probably seal the deal for him. Haha

The Village Inn is also right there in the center of Gambier, between Wiggin Street Coffee and the Kenyon Bookstore. They offer a pub style menu, which of course includes burgers!

We can go to Peirce whenever it’s open (not all day but most of it) and after that a lot of people end up going to the restaurants, but since that can get expensive I’d say most people probably order pizza or keep food in their room!

@apple23 Yes! I forgot the Village Inn! @ChaosParent23 burgers etc. available there. The only thing lacking is fast food… and that in my opinion is not a bad thing! I had never eaten fast food until college and it started a bad habit that I thankfully broke years after graduation. I’m grateful it isn’t readily available at every corner on campus.

Coincidentally, my current Kenyon freshman just texted me about late night eating tonight! One option for late night eating is to use the K Card (student ID) as a debit card at the places in town. At the beginning of each semester, parents deposit money onto the card (unless they opt out) for students to use at lots of local businesses, both in Gambier and nearby Mount Vernon. It can be used at the restaurants mentioned above as well as for pizza delivery.

Here’s a link with info regarding the K Card: https://www.kenyon.edu/directories/offices-services/accounting/student-accounts/the-k-card/

This is very helpful, thank you! He just changed his application from RD to ED1 yesterday so fingers crossed
