In looking at the FA package we got from Drexel, I see no need based grants of any kind. The only thing they "gave" us (other than the merit scholarship) was the early FAFSA award. Unfortunately, they consider 11,500 in loans to be aid, which I do not. That plus the gap that is left, would result in loans for my son that could never be paid back!
We have a very low EFC, so either Drexel does not give need based grants, or we did not qualify - did anyone receive aid other than work study, loans, and the early FAFSA?

you are not alone, my d have a merit 22,500 we got the package last night what a surprise, loans for $7,000 and the FAFSA award for a $1,000. we need to pay the rest…total $30,500 and the school cost $57,000.

Not looking too good is it? I may call or email them later today and just inquire about need-based grants. Drexel is not my sons first choice, but we are still waiting on the package from the other school, which may not be much better!

we are going to call today. my D its waiting for others schools too, but she have an interview for the medical program. we have to wait.

Dbarber you call? We call and its nothing to be done, if the give you a merit the FA is low. So sad.

I didn’t call yet. We got the merit from the other school. We are waiting on their FA packet - and that school I KNOW gives need based aid!
I will call if he is interested in Drexel after getting the other school’s information.
You could try writing to Drexel and asking for more money, telling them all the reasons why your child wants to go there. It might be worth a try.
