<p>I mean close to which area of campus: west, east, south or north is nicer place to live? Or they all pretty nice? I am starting to look for off-campus housing for next semester but not sure which area to choose from. I really want to get a great living experience since this will be my last year at Berkeley. Can anyone give me some advise? Thanks a lot!</p>
<p>I’d generally recommend north / north-west. There’s more long-term residents in the area, housing is slightly cheaper, and it’s still relatively close to campus.</p>
<p>There isn’t really any housing available in the east (due to the hills), and the west tends to less safe (only relatively speaking, though). As for the south, it’s close to campus, but it’s really a student ghetto with overpriced and heavily under-maintained properties.</p>
