just curious
my logic is that ELC admittance rate is about 60%, and if you're from a competitive high school(better than the other half), then you should be pretty much in, right?

if you're instate and a competitive app your chances are generally much higher than at equally rated oos/private schools imo

ELC doesnt take into account how hard ur HS is ... its strictly whether u are or aren't. And 60% is high ... but what about the other 40%?

that's what i'm saying, the other 40% prabobaly went to less competitive school in South Central L.A.

If you have a 2300+ SAT, 750+ SAT IIs, 3.9+ UW GPA from a competitive Californian high school, with some decent ECs and maybe some awards, I wouldn't see it as a stretch to call Berkeley a safety. It's much more number-driven than the elite privates so it's easier to predict chances.
