Is UCLA holistic?

Do they care about out of school activities or do they only pay attention to grades?

they care more for e.c.'s than grades. however, if you have crappy grades you won’t get in.
i know of someone who had a 4.6 gpa and 2280, barely any e.c.'s. got rejected.

ok thanks. Because I hope something big will be happening outside of school. Thanks!

My friend with a 4.8 and 2400 and a varsity athlete and member of NHS and CSF with oodles of APs got rejected. And I met another guy with a 3.2 and sub-2000 and few ECs with a tough life family life who got in! So that’s why predicting who’ll get in and who won’t is tough. Yeah it’s holistic, just not in any super-predictable way.

Bull.

60% of ELC students between berkeley and la are accepted, 98% rank in the top 10% of their respective classes.

not saying ECs aren’t significant but if you’re saying they’re above grades, i’ll call BS on that all day.

@incognito123:

OK. If that were the case, what happened to the other 40%. Why aren’t their numbers for ELC as high as schools like SB and Davis (90s)? That just shows that they are more than just numbers.

People with stats that high are probably rejected for yield protection.
