I applied to Yale and have lived in Indiana my entire life. Sadly, I was deferred from Yale. I would just like to see what type of people they took from my state. If you could provide some stats (SAT, GPA, etc.) that would be great!

My best friend was admitted.

4.2 GPA
1/504
9 AP classes
1600 SAT
800 US History
800 Chemistry
790 German with Listening
780 Writing

On the map of admits, it looks like 7 people in Indiana were admitted. I'm next door (Ohio), and it appears 22 were admitted here.

I don't know of anyone who was accepted (or even applied for that matter) but I am applying RD and I am from Indiana. Hopefully you'll get lucky in the RD round.

By the way, if anyone else did apply from Indiana post what other schools you applied to as well.

I applied but was rejected. Definitely was expecting a deferral rather than a rejection, but that's okay. I'm applying to Brown, Wellesley, and Dartmouth now. Brown has been my #1 for awhile, but my parents discouraged me from doing any binding decisions. I already have a very nice scholarship to Indiana-Bloomington and I'm hoping to get the Harrison Scholarship to Miami of OH.

I'm sorry about Yale aussie. Hopefully you'll have better luck at your other schools. I was deferred at Stanford for EA, so I am yet to be rejected from Yale. :) I've also been accepted to IU, but I don't have a scholarship. I'm debating on whether to apply for a scholarship from the Honors College since I really don't expect to go to IU. I guess it wouldn't hurt.
