any one is admitted through eop program?

i find out that i am admitted on the solar system...but i applied for the eop program. there is no indication that i am an eop students online.

Congrats to being admitted! ummm i think that EOP should have sent u a letter saying that you are admitted, the orientation dates, and to tell you about the mandatory summer program that you have to attend. I do not believe that anywhere else will say that u are an EOP student.

Im sorry i might have misread..........but ummm if you got into the the university directly then u wont be in EOP. You will be in EOP only as i mentioned before when u get the letter that u are admitted to it.

I don't know if they've sent out EOP decisions yet, actually. Did you send all your financial documentation in yet?

Chris

i havent sent any of financial documentation to stony brook.
and btw, today i receive the acceptance letter, it doesnt mention any word of EOP but i am told i am admitted as a freshman through the english enhancement program. what does that mean?

Ah. The "EEP" is something of an ESL-based program for students who have strong academic records, but a low score on the CR section of their SAT. It just means that you're tracked through the ESL pre-College Writing coursework. Congratulations!

(FWIW, it also means that you're academically overqualified for EOP.)

Chris

oh Chris, thanks for replying.
How about the toefl score. I knew I was not doing well on the CR, therefore I took the Toefl exam and i got 96 on the ibt test. So toefl socre doesn't help at all?

Now i don't have to go mandatory summer program like eop students do,right?
again, thanks for replying me, Chris.

TOEFL really doesn't help much for domestic students.

No, there's no summer program for EEP.

Chris

I've been admitted to Geneseo, Buffalo, and Binghamton through the EOP program, just waiting for Stony Brook's now.
Just wanted to share haha

i just got the bing eop reject letter recently....
i thought i have no chance to go to bing now...

blazinreaper, congratulation!! i am still waiting for bing, buffalo and albany...

sodan...you said you got bing eop rejection letter so how come you still waiting for bing again...i got accepted to albany. but i wanna go to stony though just waiting for my eop acceptance letter...can't wait!!!!

Haha congratulations everyone. Take advantage of the EOP program and reach your fullest potential ! Just because EOP requires a mediocre grade, it doesnt mean it's easy to be accepted to. Remember you are applying among 5000+ EOP applicants and there are only seats of 200 or less. Be glad that you've been accepted and don't slack in college as you have supposedly in high school. Good luck everyone

m3ch2ll2..bing said im rejected by eop and changed me to the regular program. that's why im still waiting...
i applied to albany too... but im also waiting....

blazinreaper .. i thought there's like 600-800 seats in the eop...
but anyway..i am accepted..the only difference is i have to pay more...

blazinreaper...ofcourse we need to be happy atleast we will get more attention and financial assistant than regular students...but some people are making it seem like eop students are all dumb, sometimes i feel embarrassed to say that i applied through eop...so sad, but anywayz if i get accepted to stonybrook then i wouldn't care what people say.

chris, if they send you the financial documents does it mean that the person is academically qualified for EOP?

but i think eop is great. i think schools will pay more attention to teach you and help you. the only thing i hate is that i need to go to summer school every summer!!! i am planing to go back to china every summer!!!

soda you've been accepted to stony's eop? if yes, when were you notified? by mail or solar

Fun fact: EOP has the highest 4 year graduation rate of any part of the university. That means more EOP students graduate in four years than in the Honors College, WISE, University Scholars, or any of the rest of Stony Brook. Doesn't seem like anything to be embarrassed about to me; they must be doing something right.

blazinreaper i got admitted through regular admission. and they reject me as an eop...
so i think you should wait. but check ur solar regularly.

blazinreaper...did you fill out any financial document for stony eop?

Soda- Oh i see... if you don't mind what was your high school GPA and SATS?

michelle- Yes, i have already sent my financial forms to Stony Brook.
