Maybe I missed something. I didn't see when Cooper will send out their decision. Have anyone heard about it?

Not me don’t know. What are your stats???

eng. is out already
art and arch are sometime first week Apr, so I hear.
not that I am waiting for a good news…
It was weird just last night I was visiting Peter Cooper in the park then look at 30 Cooper Sq where decision letters should be ready or on going, (all dark) then shiny new building (all lights were lit) then walked around the foundation building peaking inside its hallway where kids are cutting out from blue 2-3inch thick essafoam insulation board with tiny exacto knife, cheap weak sewing machine set up with maze of extension cord, drill bits, tub of white glue… I have no idea what’s they are up to 10PM Saturday night.
Love love love Cooper. Long live the cult school!!

Make sure you tell us if you find out!

no way
I will disappear from the surface of the earth and CC land. Are you kidding?
after all this big mouthing how can I say didn’t make it?

Daughter got Presidential Scholarship from SAIC, which is 88000$ in total for the four years, need to make decision by 4/1/2010. Feel bad she can not get Cooper’s decision before 4/1.

are you sure about that 4/1/2010 deadline for SAIC? that is kind of a strange date.

yes, daughter got a piece of … saying 4/1/2010. I may encourage her to call SAIC to see if it can be a little late.

Weird…S scholarship (for substantially less) was 4/19. If they are doing the 4/1 they are forcing kids to decide before they know RISD or Cooper or scholarship from MICA etc. Not only does it sound weird, it sounds like very ugly approach to merit aid. Please check because that would be so unfair to a kid to try to choose before they know all their options.

maybe you can pm valtergeorge, he is a young man who posts on CC who also received $88K from SAIC. I know he is also applying to Cooper, may have some insight about due dates. It is really a strange date, since so many of the dates for other schools are later.

Just call and let them know you’re waiting on another response. According to the CU Admissions Facebook, admissions decisions will be by mail this coming week.

yeah where is that valter kid? got same award but wasn’t saying anything conflicting.
Are there last minutes presidential and priority presidential?
In the past spying, kids got to choose after Cooper said no. borderline rejects usually get similar offers from SAIC, parsons, MICA etc (NEVER RISD, or they’d never even think to apply to begin with)
could be typo

Or the conspiracy against internationals and/or Asians…

Please let us know if you call, I would be very curious as to their response about bumping that deadline back. Perhaps the date is earlier because it’s such a substantial award, I wonder if this was done not thinking about the other schools announcements or was done knowing that. And congratulations, do you think your daughter will wait for Cooper if they won’t budge the date. What a decision to have to make!

The post above should have been addressed to loveblue re: the SAIC scholarship and Cooper

I’m very surprised to hear about that scholarship arm twisting. Don’t colleges belong to some kind of UN where they agree not to do things like this that would sabotage another college’s chances with the same student? Where they could be kicked out if they pull any stunts like that? ED is the only exception and there are strict rules about it.

As far as I know, the April 1 scholarship acceptance is that this is only for the very large scholarships at SAIC. They ask for an early decision because students offered those scholarships are often candidates at other schools; if they turn the scholarships down, they can be offered to other students, who might then attend because of that additional money. Because schools like SAIC and other art schools have small endowments for merit aid, they try to use it very carefully.

My understanding is that if a student calls and asks for a few more days to decide about the scholarship, they’ll give it. They’re just trying to make sure that the money does the most good.

here is another two year old saga. she was rejected from Cooper few days later. asked more $ from SAIC to match Parsons, rest unknown
If anyone cares and are restless while waiting, read on every sub columns and replies, go back and forward in the bottom part clicking earlier or later to choose other pages.
2008 kids were all whackos and so much information here albeit everything is sort of subjective. I recommend to anyone who wants to do Cooper hard way.

Did loveblue called SAIC, like, we are all saying this and that without knowing what’s really up?

I needed to delay my scholarship confirmation so I called in yesterday and the admissions lady told me it would be fine as long as I got it in before may.

so it’s the international thing!!! it is sort of dirty
