Any Organic on the Chemistry test?

I'm relying on a couple of prep books and this course I'm taking at my community college to help me for the chemistry test. The course doesn't go into organic chemistry, however, and I haven't learned it in high school. Does the actual exam test you on much organic chem, if so how much?

yeah. i only got a couple of questions though.
they are usually simple. i think it’s worth learning

I wouldn’t worry about it b/c on my test, I only had one question related to organic chem.

I would learn some basic orgo (functional groups for aldehydes, alcohols, carboxylic acids, etc) as they can be on the matching section in the beginning. I wouldn’t worry about reactions though.

The only functional groups you’ll probably have to know are alcohols and carboxylic acids.

Another thing I would learn is the difference between alkanes, alkenes, and alkynes, as well as the basic nomenclature (CH4 is methane, C2H6 is ethane, etc.)

I think in june there were about two questions on organic chemistry; the Barron’s section on organic chemistry is perfect if you’re aiming for the top score.

Barrons is overkill on the orgo section of the SAT II. Seriously, if you know your functional groups and saturated/unsaturated hydrocarbons, you will be fine.

yup i’d say barrons is overkill, but it did help me get 800 :)

about the organics, there are a few questions on it, just know the functional groups, and general properties, and some of the reactions (addition, combustion, hydration, etc)

good luck
