I'm a community college student planning on transfering in Fall '09. I was horrified to discover that most of the schools I am interest in want SAT scores and high school records. I'm 32 and have never taken the SAT. I am planning on taking it in May or December and am terrified about sitting in a room with a bunch of 15 year olds! Anyone else out there in the same position?

well, i'm not an adult...but there was a 50(ish)-year-old who took the SAT with me back in march... it was kind of weird (well, sorta "funny", i guess) seeing a gray-haired person take the sat w/ a bunch of kids, but it was no big deal (well, he cheated-that was probably the only problem). you should be fine, though-as long as you know the math.

emmm tell u what dress in a professional way...it'd make u seem as if u r a CB official or something like that! ;)

I suppose I should have an advantage since I have already taken college math classes. Then again, that may means that they will expect more from me.

It probably won't since the SAT doesn't include college-level questions on there. They are moreso general questions, although the difficult questions are tricky (mostly all the time), they are not impossible to do.

Not sure exactly who "they" is, but if you are referring to the college you are wanting to transfer to, you most likely are right depending on the college. CB won't care what you make on it though.

to the OP: okay, SAT MATH tests middle school till 9th grade math (Arith, Alg I, Geom, and a bit of Alg II and trigeno)..so, ur college level math won't come into much help....DO REVIEW though! it's very important to know what kind of math you are expected to answer....as Mr. Patel said...they are tricky...and they are doable if u know the tricks..review w/ BB or PR or Barrons whatever you can obtain!

You're going to do really well; older people are way more serious about preparing! Just do lots of practice tests. And bring a lot of ID; they'll probably think someone hired you to take the test for the children!

^haha..that's actually a good point!!!
