Any other seniors having this problem?

I stayed home from school today...again. It's only my 9th or 10th absence this year and my 2nd this semester, but it's just...meh.

I've already decided where I'm going next fall, and I think I've just lost that will to go to school. Can you say "Senioritis?"

I know I need good grades to keep my acceptance, I just don't WANT to go to HS anymore. I'm sick of the cattyness, and the drama, and everything else. UGH.

Don't worry you're not the only one. :)

I've missed a couple days this semester and I know people in my class skip ~2 days a week. I wonder how it will be once I get my acceptance letters...

I feel better now. XD

2 days a week?!?!

I guess it's worse for us because we have block schedule, so missing one day is really like missing two.

There was a week this fall where I wasn't there at all. Just wait until March...thats going to be terrible for attendance. I have a paper that was due 2 months ago that I just finished. ><;

My D seems to really want to make the most of her remaining time with her friends ( which fortunately seems to involve going to school). Is that unusual? She's gone to the same school for maybe 13 years.

Going to the same school for 13 years and liking your friends is different. You've grown up with the people and they've made you who you are. Going to high school for 4 years just, flat out, gets old

Shrinkrap-it's not unusual. I'm the same way, since I'm the only one of my friends going away to college. But I see my friends enough on the weekends that I don't necessarily want to go to school.

It's just that college is SO CLOSE I can taste it. So high school just feels unnecessary.

March will be okay for me because that's when our Spring Break is. ^_^

10 days per year isnt THAT much

I have that problem. Bad.

I am waiting for my teachers to realize that I don't want do work anymore. I think they may be getting it.

I am also trying to see how long I can go without talking during some of my classes (as I am usually someone who talks all the time in class). The first two days it was really difficult to hold in the urge, but I'm going on about two weeks now, and it's starting to be really funny.

I made the mistake of signing up for my first AP classes this semester. Bad idea. I'm ready to graduate and get to college. HS is pointless.

YES! I'm glad others are feeling the same way! I just missed my last two school days (wednesday and thursday) (friday, monday, AND tuesday we have off for some teacher institute thing) So I basically made myself a SEVEN day weekend! HAHAHA.

And I haven't done the last 5 assignments in one of my classes, and took a quiz this week where I didn't even answer the entire back page! The test was thursday but I wasn't in class. I think I MIGHT do the work I missed and get caught up so I can actually do well on the test. I want to at LEAST get a B in the class!

But anyone know HOW BAD your grades have to be for a college to rescind your admission? It's not like I am going to any Ivy's or anything...

As far as I know, they have to be drastically different from the grades you usually get. ie getting Cs when you usually get As.

Our school at 12 days absence you lose all credits for that year. Or you have a hearing and they waive days that you have doctor notes.

^Wow...that's hardcore.

You guys don't get excused for bereavement or anything else like that?

Your parents just let you miss school? My mom won't even let me stay home when I'm actually sick. I was even promised a "Mental Health Day" whenever I needed one, but apparently I have to inform my mom like two weeks ahead of time before she'll let me use it.

March is going to be the longest month ever.

^wow, that sucks. i've already missed twelve days this year...and i still got straight A's. i get sick a lot, but prob. about three of the days i just...didn't feel like going.

also, we have alternate day scheduling. on a days i have all four of my ap's and on b days the only ap i have is calc. so, b days seem pretty optional now IMO.

ever since i got my first acceptance letter, all of my incentive to learn required material has diminished.
thankfully, i have packed my second semester schedule with electives that actually interesting, so i only have a couple classes i don't want to go to.
but i can't wait to be done!

I've done that a couple of times this year as well... ugh. I've got two APs too. My school is really easy though, usually I can make up my work without any trouble. Also my 3rd period is "free" - I don't have a class - so I usually just go home and crash and sometimes don't come back :/

Half of the seniors in my school have free 3rd and 4th periods, (block schedule), so when I come back in the afternoon the senior parking lot is pretty much empty. It's kind of sad.

The GOOD thing about senioritis is that you stop caring about what everyone things of you and trying to "fit in". Part of realizing that in 6 months everything you've done [socially] in high school won't matter anymore.

I wish I could have this problem...but it's second semester of senior year and nothing counts more than what I'm doing right now (preparing for IB exams and finishing up IB IAs)...sigh.
