Any other vets applying for Fall '11?

Anyone hear back yet?

Many schools don’t release transfer admission decisions until late April or early May, the wait is killing me!

I got out of the Navy as an E-5 Air Traffic Controller in June 2010. I went to Community College for the last three semesters Summer/Fall/Spring. Currently at a 3.471 GPA with a HS GPA of a 2.4(bad gpa but with hard classes) so I think that is what gave me a little slack. I applied and was accepted to U of MN Duluth for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, and U of MN-Twin Cities for Physiology in the Liberal arts, but considering switching to Economics pre-med since I think it will give me a better career if I decide on just a BS/MS or MBA/MBS since I don’t want to get a biochem degree and live the rest of my life as a lab rat.

So far I confirmed in Duluth but may take the U of MN Twin Cities up on their offer.

PS I didn’t apply with ACT or SAT scores, but had a decent essay. I think I did a lot of things and had a very well rounded tour of 5yrs. I loading Hurricane Katrina Helos, Iraq deployment, and an Ironman triathlon, and a lot of volunteer work, along with a lot of Air Traffic Control responsibilities.

Very nice, congratulations!

Ironman triathlon, crap I’m still trying to get down beyond a half-marathon lol

Well I got an acceptance letter to the U of MN Twin Cities for Biochemistry as well. I am now wondering if I should register for UM-Duluth or UM-Twin Cities(TC) for the program. TC is a research campus, btw.

Twin cities is clearly the superior school, don’t really see why this is even up for consideration

Got accepted to UChicago, but sadly had to decline since my wife was declined admission. Still waiting on Columbia GS.

Accepted: Northeastern in Boston for Criminal Justice!

100 percent attending!!!

Current CC student that applied to the UCs in Cali:

Waiting for UCB, UCSD, and UCI

Accepted to UCSB

Former sailor 4 years E-5
3.8 GPA

Wish u all luck!

So far I’ve been admitted to the Colorado School of mines and UNC, really hoping for UChicago or CMU though.

Anyone else been hearing back?

AF vet, turned down at Colorado College. Waiting on UofC and Vassar. Act of 34, community college 4.0

Going to UC Berkeley for fall 2011 :D

noleguy33, what cc in california were you taking about in your post? im in the process of going back to school with my gi bill (Navy Vet) (iraq n afghan war). im interested in both cc n standford transfer friendly schools, hope to hear from you.

4 year USMC vet here, had a 2.5 and 60 credits when I EAS’s, and tried to get into San Diego State. GPA was too low but they directed me to the San Diego CC system, spent 3 semesters and 1 summer raising my GPA, and getting all the CA pre-reqs knocked out. Starting at SDSU in July. The new GiBill is great, glad to here so many of you going to amazing schools. Semper Fi!
