any phenomonal classes that you've taken...

that you'd recommend?? I know that classes are different across different colleges + teachers, but are there any classes that you really enjoyed?

Any English/literature class, really. Also really liked Bioethics, Intro to Human Rights, Endocrinology, Immunology, and Health Insurance.

For the more obscure courses, which for some reason I assume is your query, my data point loved her Histology course and her Topics in Bio-medical Research (team taught by St. Jude’s investigators). Her school is pretty big on Independent Research credit and she maxed out all available hours early , found it very valuable, and continued her research for $ (which she also found valuable ;)).

But , truthfully, all the sciences come easy to her. Liberal Arts? Not her comfort zone so that’s really where she got stretched by college.

Outside the sciences she found herself engrossed by comparative and exploratory religion courses (Mohammed, Confucius, Jesus, and Buddha for one. The Koran (but i think she spells it with a Q ) and Contemporary Issues for another. And -as she now reads over my shoulder  - Pain, Suffering and Death and its Palliative Care practical, and courses like Women in Chinese Literature, a 20th century US History course taught from an African American perspective, and Spanish Language Immersion in Spain.

For a kid from Turn Off the Paved Road, Texas with an inquiring and (relatively) open mind (and an admittedly limited frame of reference), she feels her expanded world-view has given her perspective that will serve her well as a physician.

Or (rather than typing for 23 minutes with two broke-ish fingers and after taking two pain pills ;)) I could have just said “listen to GoldShadow” . lol.

History of medicine.

Golf …

… And Immunology, Endocrinology, Modern Moral Philosophy (basically an ethics course), Lit. of Modern Warfare are ones that I enjoyed.

I’m looking forward to companion animal management and intro. to political theory next semester in the hopes that they’ll be interesting and not duds. Oh and yeah, another course of golf. :D

My interdepartmental writing course was amazing, it was mostly due to the fact that we had one of the best professors on campus but it was really a nice change from all the math/science I had to endure over the semester. :p

It wasn’t easy but you actually learn some useful things.

Social Psychology taught by a woman who studied under Zimbardo (Stanford Prison Experiment, etc.). Tons of interesting things in that course if taught by the right person.
