<p>Is there anyone out there with philosophy as their primary or alternate majors still pending?</p>

<p>i have a 3.31 and TAP. My primary was history but i think i am now being considered for my alternate philosophy. I have 1 pre req completed plus another philosophy class.</p>
<p>you have a good shot, given that only 1 pre req was offered at your CC. I saw someone with a 3.2X get in this year for phil.</p>
<p>No the other three were offered as well, but i was completing the pre reqs for my primary major. I have heard that for alternate majors such as philosophy all the pre reqs do not need to be completed in order to get in. Also, on assist.org one of the pre reqs listed is a phil course that is offered only in the spring semester of each year. It says complete this course or “no course articulated”. Does this mean i am responsible for this course?</p>
<p>If it says ‘no course articulated,’ you’re not responsible for the course, or at least, they won’t hold it against you for not having it; however, if you get accepted, you’ll be able to petition for up to three philosophy courses to count towards those, which were not articulated. I had this confirmed by my buddy that just graduated in philosophy from ucla (and was a transfer, also). I took a total of seven courses in philosophy at my CC. I’m not sure if that helped my chances or not.</p>
<p>I’m thinking of applying to UCLA for fall 2011. Does it matter if you apply with philosophy courses ‘in progress’ or ‘planned’? I’ve only completed one philosophy requirement and can only take two in the fall, the rest I plan to take in the spring.</p>
