This may make me sound stupid, but I’m going to ask anyways XD…

In general, I’m a relatively clean person. So what if I’m randomly dormed with people who are messy (like clothes and leftover food thrown everywhere etc)? Do I just suck it up? >< Assuming that I do not request for a specific roommate, do people get paired up in a 100% random way?

Well I’ve read that you can file a complaint or something along those lines and maybe get a new roommate in like a year. Not entirely sure that’s how it works but I did read something like that a while back.

And although I’m not a student there yet, I’d think that the pairing would be random (well not coed though) if you didn’t request any roommate. Btw when did you submit your housing app if you don’t mind me asking?

You’ll take a survey that indicates your cleanliness preferences, whether you smoke, morning/night person, etc. So they at least ATTEMPT to match you up with someone who has your interests. I would really recommend going on the facebook group for your college’s class of 2014 (when it’s created) because I actually met my roommate there and we’re still best friends to this day.

Residence Hall Housing rates for 2010/11
•$10,986 Single Room
•$10,186 Double Room
•$9,386 Triple Room

Why is the triple room price like 85% of the single room price!!! T.T…A student technically rents a third of a dorm if he opts for the triple, yet the price is still not much far from a single! IMO, althought there is some financial incentive to opt for a triple, it’s definitely not much incentive…

I submitted my Housing App on March 17th and I can’t finish up the contract yet until they release our emails and email our contract there and instructions… but is March 17th a good date? Because I really want a single room! >.<
What’s the chance of me getting a single? I got into Warren btw.

@Paulinea I would say that’s a good date. I didn’t submit my housing app until after Admit day last year, which was sometime in April. I still got my single (I’m in Warren as well).

Just a little housing recommendation that I thought of after reading 101921’s post about roommates (I’ll repost this up when we get closer to the start of next year though, just as a friendly reminder).

When you start rooming with someone, it might be a good idea to have some sort of written contract that you and your roommate(s) sign indicating what is expected. For example: “You agree to keep the room ______ clean at all times.” This will most likely save you a lot of headache that I experienced this year.
