Hi, I would like to know how to find out which books are used by which professors/classes. Like I know how to search for classes and everything, but I cant seem to find what books they require. Thanks in advance!

go to classes/waitlists in tritonlink, and the button on the right side above your list of classes is called “all my books”. click it and voila!

is there any way to find out the books that the class requires before you actually enroll in the classes?

hi! i was just wondering… do we sign up for freshmen seminar when we sign up for the other courses or is it a separate procedure?

@diablonecros - in the schedule of classes, there is a little red textbook icon that appears next to each class. Just click on that and it gives you the book list.

@monkiswim10 - you sign up for it the same way when you register for other classes.

thanks a bunch! do you recommend any of the seminars?

Which professors do you guys recommend for math 10a, chem 6a, and doc1? Thanks!

I never took a seminar unfortunately But I would really recommend it, I’ve heard great things

Just making sure, but we can still sign up for Chem 6A even if we didn’t take the chem placement exam, right?

^Yes. 10char

Can we bring microwaves for the dorms?

^Yes. 10charizard

@MidnightRoses

math 10a: volpato or stevens
chem 6a: johnson or stuart; avoid kummel for 6b
(never took doc)

good luck!

the microwave has to be under 600 watts. it says so somewhere on the ucsd website.

I can’t find a microwave under 700 watts in my town. Are they really going to check the wattage on my microwave?

^It really doesn’t matter, I think mine was 1200 watts or something ridiculous and they never checked

If you were going to be rescinded would you already have received notice by now?

Zman1,
I think you can get rescinded anytime, so it’s not like you’re off the hook just because you didn’t get a notice yet. but if you haven’t so far, then that means so far your transcript has been verified & all is up to date and good to go.

Question: Is there room enough for a mini-fridge in the ERC doubles? also, my mom thinks laundry baskets take up too much room (LOL). is that true, or is there room to put a laundry basket in a double/triple & still be comfortable?

Also, is is true that doubles in Revelle are relatively bigger? I think I heard that somewhere.

Thanks for your help everyone!

Yes, there’s room for a mini-fridge in an ERC double. My roommate and I had a TV, microwave, and mini-fridge for awhile. Push your desks around to make room.

A lot of people brought laundry baskets and I thought it was way more convenient than my ghetto laundry bag. You can store it under your bed if you run out of room.

Yes, doubles in Revelle are bigger.

I’m thinking about booking my Christmas break tickets (back to SF) right now while they’re really cheap ($59 one-way, to be exact). is that ill-advised? because at those prices, the tickets are non-refundable. what are the chances of something coming up and causing me to cancel? I feel like nothing would come up, really. I already verified that by then, all my finals will be done. what’s your take? thanks
