im korean, so not a urm, but "culturally diverse?"

basically not white, but that's just my guess

Why can't Jewish ever count for anything? Ughhhh!

I'm Chinese, and I got one. Is that considered diverse at Wash U? haha...

Haha, I'm Asian and I got an early notification letter. Also invited to Multicultural Weekend.

Yeah, a little boggled about the whole "diversity" thing, I'd think more Hispanic/African American, etc would be invited...Asians tend to be the "majority," sort of.

i'm chinese

I got early notification to multicultural weekend today too!! I'm so excited! See you all there!

Do they send one to all accepted students or just a small sample of them?

It sounds like a LOT of people have gotten them.

So maybe all of the accepted minority students?

What means minority students? minority in US or including international students?
I am from China and still haven't got any notification.
maybe they think it's too far to fly there for the multicultural weekend?
Any international student got the early notification letter?

I'm Asian and I got an early notification letter today. I was invited to Multicultural Weekend, but I don't think I will be attending.

through email or mail?

If they have already sent out all "minority" (chinese here) olin school ones (i'm just guessing based on the number of people who received notice from olin), then I guess the rest of us just expect a rejection?

This kinda sucks because my mid-year report was just filed in last thursday. My guidance counselor accidentally misplaced my WashU one... I had to call the Admin office to ask if they received one every other day. It would totally suck if this was the one thing that earned me the rejection. :[

Have these notifications/invites been sent by email or mail?
I haven't received anything. I'm in the same boat as Aussenseiter. I'd think that if they were looking for "culturally diverse" I'd be included. I'm Chinese AND I'm living in China, and my application and scores were decent.

perhaps the airfare that they promise everyone is too much for international students. Have any other international students been invited?

i am an international student and i have not heard anything about decisions from wustl yet.

on the "admission notification dates for 2008" thread, someone said that it would be posted online on march 13th mid-afternoon. has anyone else heard anything confirming this?

mrchipmunk:
it makes sense given when they released last year based on CC threads.... Not confirmed though by anyone else...I'm thinking of accidentally shutting down our internet access on Thursday-Sunday of next week until the snailmail comes; I'm not thinkin' this is going to be a pretty site and my d's birthday is next weekend.....

(and we already know of someone from her hs that was accepted yesterday for multicultural.......)

Rodney, don't bother, she'll just have someone else log in for her and check. I know this because when my son was checked his UVM decision online we also ended up checking for one of his friends whose internet wasn't working at that moment and had called him to get him to check for her.....

I'm betting the 14th at 5 myself, that seems to be the going date/time for this week....

soproud: HaHa...Hope you are right.....the 14th @ 5 sounds good....big birthday dinner already scheduled!!!! Bad news can come afterwards.....
