Any recommendations for University summer programs for High Schools students?

Does anyone have any recommendations for summer programs (camps or courses, etc) in the Southeast/East for high school students? I have seen that some universities offer things and that seems like a great idea....suggestions?

Interested in sciences, languages, humanities, etc.

The deadlines have passed by now for many academic programs. Put this on your “to do list” next fall or early winter.

This forum should help: [Summer Programs - College Confidential](Summer Programs - College Confidential Forums) I had good luck just using the keywords, “summer High School program, name of college” In Pennsylvania they did away with the Governor schools a few years ago, but some of the colleges still have the programs in place. Here are some offerings from Drexel in Philadelphia: [Summer Pre-College Programs at Drexel University](http://www.drexel.edu/undergrad/summer/)

wis75, Not sure if you realize it or not, but schools on the east coast often don’t finish until mid-June, so there are probably more programs still open now.

Thank you…great suggestions…I will look into them and I have it on my calendar to start looking MUCH earlier for next yr too. I look forward to seeing more ideas. :-)

There may still be time to apply for the Summer College for High School Students at University of Mississippi in Oxford, Mississippi. [Summer College For High School Students - The University of Mississippi](Summer College for High School Students | Ole Miss) My son has enrolled because they offered full scholarships for students with high test scores and GPAs. I’m not completely sure what to expect but the campus is lovely and the courses are for college credit. I am cautiously optimistic. My son chose to take introductory courses in computer science and logic.

I think lots of programs still have room. If you are interested, it is worth looking.

Does anyone know additional information about the Cook Honors College Summer program?

The University of Miami accepts applications until May, priority deadline is April 1st.

Depends what you want, but my D loved the UVA leadership on the lawn program last summer.

I know that UConn’s Exploring Engineering program is still accepting applications. Deadline is April 15th. My DS went last summer (we just sent in his deposit today to hold his place for the fall) and my D15 is applying for this summer. Very reasonably priced, too.
