Are there any research programs for High School students whose dates havent passed and are intended for high school students? around the michigan area?

go to your nearby university and ask for admission to an "Access Studies Program": which means that you can take many first year and second or even third year university courses and receive credits, but the only difference between you and a normal univerisity student is that you don't get a diploma or certificate in the end. But it's still worth it. I am planning to take a course at a fairly prestigious university near my home through that type of a program, and I think that you should be able to learn alot and gain some indepth knowledge and experience that would pave your way for the future college admissions and beyond.

If you also want to do research, take a course at the university first so you get to know the field of study better and actually be taught by the professor you are planning to do your research with.

The program's called "Access Studies" here in my university, but they might have similar programs in other places that are just labeled with a different name.

thanks for the advice.....are professors willing to let High School students do research tho?

I'm not sure, but my idea is that you just have to suck up to them and brag about how many accomplishments you've made, and how impressive a student you are, and how you are interested in their field of study. Perhaps do a bit of research on the finished projects/books/publications the professor has done in the past, and you can praise and boast how keen you are to learn more about their research.
