^sorry, didn't mean to seem like an ass, i was just a little annoyed

i don't really have a certain time i want to achieve, i just want to be able to do it over and over at a sufficiently fast pace without dying (practice for a sport)

Are you female or male? That's definitely a big factor in this.

1:30 is a little over 6 minute mile pace, which, by track standards really isn't that fast. Plus you're getting rest in between. I'd speed it up or do a lot of reps if I was you.

And I'm assuming you're not trying to be the star of the team, just competitive.

I run x-c and track
1600 6:01 damn! wanted to break 6! this year though....
x-c 22:05 again, I wanted sub 22 but oh well. season's done.

I'm a girl that is why these times are slow :)
I'm more into long distance anyway I've done a half marathon and I'm training for a full

lol i'm male... wow i got alot of work to do... but personally i don't give a **** about times really, i just want to have good speed stamina (so i want die during the suicides we do)

I get what you mean. I just want to be in good shape and have fun, I'm not trying to get a scholarship for running or do it in college.

^Right. Besides, the body will slowly atrophy with old age, but the mind usually stays a little longer (until it succumbs to senility; heh heh)

yeah I think my mind is already wilting. Right now I ought to be writing a massive synthesis paper, but eh

^heh, r u in an AP english? what grade?

Do about 400ms (finish it around 1:30)
jog recovery for about 200m
then repeat and do this about 5 times.

do y'all think that will help my fast run endurance?
[/quote]

i'm at work so i have to make this quick, before my boss catches me

no it won't

you're running too fast for endurance

thats a type 2 fast twitch muscle fiber target

you want type 1 target for endurance

your CNS will be shot if you keep on doing that each day.

whoooo!!! track!!!

i do triple jump 400 and mile =P

I am a runner. I can't do track this year.

What kinda exercises would this include? Running hills? Running numerous miles?

How does one make one's font different color?

The point isn't running numerous miles, but keeping your heart rate at a moderate amount. Depending on your level, some recommend while running keeping it at a solid 163 (cardio level) the whole time. Which is why heart rate monitors are so darn popular these days.

However, some argue for 140. The slow twitch muscle (where i'm referred to as type1) fibers are your Kenyan Fibers. Note how your bicep looks bigger than the Kenyan's calf? That's because it probably is. Whereas a fast twitch fiber provides much stronger energy(force) it is not nearly as efficient in usage as slow twitch.

Sprinters, = (fast twitch)
Kenyans = slow twitch

In short to sum it up, your best way is to keep your heart rate into a target zone. NOTHING past 163. Once past that, that is strictly training, and where injuries/burnout occurs very often. At that point, unless one is out of shape, you're probably

A. too fatigued
B. training too hard, which therefore emphasizing fast twitch
C. both

Thanks for the tip. You seem to really know what you're talking about. To change your color, use this code:

[color= green ]TEXT HERE / color

Funny story, this girl from my school got recruited for track and she was the student manager! I have no idea how that worked out or anything but I thought it was hilarious. Anyways, I would do track, but my legs are ruined from basketball. I have floor burns up my legs, chipped bone on my ankle area, and also mild tendinitis on my knees =/

11.2 personal best for 100m as a junior. Is that too slow for D1 or 2?

wow someone said 38 seconds for 100 m
i mean im not track super star but geez

100 m - 12.5
200 m - 25

11.2 is probably too slow for D1. In my area, there are a lot of kids who can hit 11 or under for the 100.
