Any Scholarships That Can Help Me Pay For My "Study Abroad" Education?

Hi,

I've been accepted to this awesome college program called Global College of Long Island University, where it's the only one in the nation, and probaly the world, where I study in different countries for 4 years; I don't stay in the United States. I will go to places like Costa Rica, India, China, Australia, South Africa, Ecuador, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, Nepal, and many other exotic places. Now, so far I've received a generous 13,000 scholarship from the program and I'm still waiting for my FAFSA package. I'm just worried that it might not be enough to cover everything because the average tuition is about $25,000. Do you guys know of any scholarship opportunities out there that could help me pay for my education abroad? Oh, and I'm a non-US citizen; I'm from the island nation of Palau, but I function as a permanent resident, even though it does not state that in the Compact of Free Association, if any of you have heard of it. Palau is almost like a territory of the USA even though it's independent.

There aren’t any significant scholarships for international students in the US, except for aid given by the individual schools. If the scholarship/FA package you’re getting from your school isn’t enough, it may be almost impossible to come up with the money independently. I would look into scholarships available in Palau for students going abroad, maybe government or church-sponsored scholarships.

Many international students in the US can make a little money while working on campus up to 20 hours per week. (More later, if the work is related directly to their studies.) Is this going to be available to you? Does this school even have a campus?

The main campus is in New York, but they have several satellite campuses in different countries.

I don’t have an answer to your question but let me just say that this school sounds really amazing. If I were not going into the art field, I probably would have done history, and this school sounds perfect for that major. It’s amazing I’ve never heard of it before. I hope u decide to go regardless. Good luck with figuring out the scholarship situation~!
