Hi, I am originally from Romania but now i live in Greece. I am in my last highschool year and I am trying to find out more about colleges and how to enter in one.
I'd like to get in an Art College. I have only 2 years of Art Highschool, no past courses or anything, just experience and selfimprovement. I wouldn't afford to go to USA for college, but I heard there are some scholarships that could pay part or all of my tuition, courses etc.
My question is what do i need to do to get a scholarship, what college would let me join in, as a foreigner ? Any details about anything would be a huge help.
Thanks in advance.

There are very, very, very few full scholarships for foreign students. You really have to be exceptionally accomplished, on an international scale, to get one.

I’d have to go to a college first to get to that kind of accomplishment, don’t you think ?

Unfortunately no, colleges giving money want you to already be accomplished.

As written above, there is very little money at US schools for internationals. At schools for art there is little money for American students as well.

If you’re fortunate enough to have great grades and scores, your best bet would be to look for a good art program at one of the top US colleges, as they give the most money to international students. Good luck!

… and to get financial aid “at one of the top US colleges” you have to be highly accomplished. Top students from around the world compete for the few spots with high financial aid. Fact is, unless you’re absolutely exceptional your chances of getting a lot of financial aid at a top American university are very small.

You’d be much better off to find an excellent European university, then try for graduate school in the US

Yeah, i know i’d have better luck getting in a univeristy somewhere in Europe, but in Romania the financial situation is macabre to say the least, I can’t deal with Greek, which is a really hard language… idk, i wanted to know more about US colleges because i already know english and i don’t wanna waste more time learning languages… My grades fell rock bottom since I moved to Greece because I just can’t keep up.
Thanks for your answers though… :(

catanic,

You should read through everything at [EducationUSA | Study Abroad, Student Visa, University Fairs, College Applications and Study in the U.S. / America](http://www.educationusa.info/) and then you should make an appointment with the counselors at the advising center closest to you. There are two in Greece [EducationUSA - Find an Advising Center](http://www.educationusa.info/Greece) When you set up your appointment, tell them that you are interested in Art and Design programs. If no one in that office is familiar with the special challenges of finding a good Art program, they have colleagues in other offices who are.
