I am happy to say that I got into U Pitt (w/ some scholarship $ as well) and the honors college. However, I'm definitely more of a liberal artsy person that likes small classes. Does UPitt have small seminar classes? and, if so, can they be taken as early as freshman year?

All writing classes are capped off at 22 students. Creative writing is a strong program at Pittsburgh (I'm strongly considering it).

Foreign language classes are very small...between 12 and 20 from what I know...and often just sit around a table.

Although you might not be a math person, those recitations (and even sometimes the classes) are very small.

When you register, you can see online how many students the class will accept.

Many of the introductory classes in the sciences are large (100+). However, they get smaller after the first year. In my last two years at Pitt, I did not have a class larger than 25. I have a friend who graduated with a degree in Political Science, and in his four years he never had a class larger than 50.
