Any So Cal Peeps Attending Boston U or Northeastern?

I'm from southern California and I was wondering if there are any other so cal people out there you attend Boston U or northeastern U. And what good about it?

My son went to BU’s Summer Challenge, a 2-week program where they take two lightweight classes. The freshman dorm, Warren Towers, is old and dirty, and has 14 floors. The worst of it is there is NO air conditioning. We dropped him off and it was in the 90s and humid, so everyone was sweating up a storm. The key is to buy a Vornado fan and have it blow on you all night long with the window open in addition. So you would deal with that heat for the first two months. There are study rooms that have AC in Warren Towers but none in the rooms. The dining hall and libraries have AC. The campus is urban - with the subway train running through the middle of campus. It was a great way to discover Boston, other than the lack of AC in the dorm. He decided to come back to the West Coast and live in a college town instead of urban because he felt he has the rest of his life to live in an urban environment.

Northeastern has newer buildings and feels a bit more like a campus, while BU feels like living in a city. I highly recommend visiting Boston so you can get a feel for the campuses. Even if MIT, Boston College, and Harvard aren’t in the equation, it’s good to see them for comparison. Boston College is on a hill and has a lot less diversity than other schools. All of these have the subway easily accessible.
