Any Stanford Rejects?

Rejected, probably going to UCB...

irock1ice, are u kidding? If not, why r u even complaining? It's not like "oh man! Harvard is just sub-par!" you've gotta save the sympathy for some guys who'll really need it, like me.

STANFORD SUCKS...i put my heart and soul and my 75 dollars into that application. oh well....GO QUAKERS!!!

Rejected. But I never got a rejection letter from them. I just kinda assumed I was rejected. Three weeks after I was supposed to receive a letter from them, I called and found out I was rejected and told them my rejection letter was probably lost in the mail. I asked them to send another one, but still haven't received it. I want my rejection letter! I'm filing all my rejection letters, along with the copies of my applications. Sure, I would've liked to go to Stanford, but it wasn't my first choice. Whatever, I still got into a good school.

im sorry. i was just putting out my hatred for Stanford. Im from Berkeley too... but I will be going to Harvard next year.

Hmm... i kinda wish i kept my rejection letter... i threw mine away.... wtvr. good luck to everyone. and screw stanford.

MIT's first batch of rejection letters this year was printed upside down. Mine came a week late. Go tech.

Stanford sux. They put too much weight on the essays, which can easily be written by someone else. My UC essays were much better than my Stanford ones because I stupidly rushed myself by applying EA. But I'm going to Berkeley which has a much better atmosphere, so it was for the best.

I was rejected from Stanford in 2000, so I attended UIUC for Engineering. Now I'm a grad student at Stanford, so sometimes things work out in the end.

REJECTED Ea, going to Harvard

im_blue: thats totally not a loss... there's a saying that you're not a true stanford aluminae unless you are in stanford grad school... so basically their undergrad education isnt THAT great... good of course, but not something to cry over if u didnt get it

No, you are not truly an alumni of a school unless you go there for undergraduate. Stanford undergrad is one of the best in the world. Same with Harvard. Even though they have stellar grad schools, they also have stellar undergrad programs.

If their undergrad programs weren't that great, then Stanford and Harvard would have the same status as Berkeley. Since Berkeley has the best graduate schools and mediocre undergraduate schools, it isn't up there with HYPS. Its grad schools are, but its undergrad is on par with CSUs and other UCs.

I know how much that sux, but it all works out in the end because everyone's going to a great school. I'm going to Wake Forest. So, Congrats everyone!

Waitlisted, going to Cal; unless of course I get off that waitlist...hahahah.

Hold on a minute...

"Its grad schools are, but its undergrad is on par with CSUs and other UCs."

Comparing Berkeley's undergrad program to be considered at the same level as the California State University system demonstrates a severe lack of knowledge in not only Berkeley's undergraduate program but the programs and purpose of the CSU system.

Surely, Berkeley may not be HYPS, but it does have a spot with University of Virignia and University of Michigan, Ann Arbor; and calling those schools undergrad program to be "on par" with CSUs demonstrates a severe deficiency in the total school program.

I think Stanford is a really great school....pretty, great education, pleanty of opportunities....but if you think about it, it's more perfect for grad school. I dunno, I think it's a little too big for new undergrads, and just for me, i would rather go to a small school.

Stanford, for me, would be a great undergraduate experience; however, you have to roll with what life throws out at you and for me, Stanford may not be possible for undergrad; but if I do well at Cal and do well on my LSATs, then Stanford law school is a viable option.

And I should mention that Stanford's undergraduate program is one of the strongest.

I am a fellow Stanford reject, not that i had any belief that i would get in, even on a fluke in the office. I chose Berkeley over UCLA. I think that i will enjoy Berkeley more than i would Palo Alto, and the school better than Stanford, too. I'm saving all of my rejects, too. Enjoy wherever you go, people.
