Any Suggestions?

I'm just posing this question because i am currently going through this college selecting process on my own and i would just like some opinions or ideas on where my following credentials could place me. My dream profession is an orthopedic surgeon so i plan to major in either pre-med or biology (opinions on which i should major would be very helpful as well). Thank you!

I’m from NY and i have spoken with my family and we are looking towards the North and South east regions (possibly even Midwest) so California would not be an option for me. As far as size however i’m not picky at all. Some schools that i had been looking at on my own include Boston University, American University, NYU, and FSU. But i don’t really know what my chances would be of getting into these schools at all.

Well, the best place to start, I think, is to get an idea of what those schools strengths are in the programs you want, as well as the cost, and the type of student they admit. Look at the social life they offer, and then when you’ve collected this info, compare/contrast, and ask around from people who have actually gone to some of those schools. Really the beginning of the hunt is just starting to research and organizing that in a convenient, useful way.

If you want to go on to med school you need to keep your UG costs low. Your scores are not really high enough to get much merit aid at most schools. Look in-state at the SUNYs and CUNYs to keep costs low.
