Any summer programs late June or late August?

My son is very committed to going to his summer camp from approximately July 1 to August 22. That's fine with us parents, but it's a shame he can't take advantage of any of the summer programs.

Then it occurred to me that he does have a lot of dead time in the second half of June.

Are there any programs that take place then?

Or perhaps the last week of August?

I tried a quick search and found the Middlebury Writer's Conference in the middle of May for four days. So even though that's not exactly summer, or late June or August, we'd be interested in those kinds of long weekend things too.

Oh, and as far as subject matter: anything but math or science is OK. Writing, social sciences, art, leadership, anything else is fine.

If he happens to be 15 he could take Japanese or Portuguese for a week, August 24 to 29.

Two late June writing programs:

Michigan State June 25
Greenrock High School Writers Retreat (June 2009) - Spartan Youth Programs - Michigan State University

Texas State June 16 or June 23

Thanks, Michigan State looks like a possibility for sure.

same question here.

apparently the texas state writing camp isn't happening this year.

^^Let's make a deal. If we find anything we'll PM you and vv?
