My guess is that they are told to bring their idols and advantages with them to TC and that producers will have backup for any âforgottenâ item, since they are unlikely to play a semantics game in the definition of âhaveâ in âdo you have an idol?â
Good question. Several seasons ago, a contestant (maybe Russel Hantz??) hid their âextraâ idol at camp. Maybe the rules have changed since then.
Edit: Trying to find who hid the immunity idol and found this from 2019. https://ew.com/tv/2019/03/06/survivor-jeff-probst-edge-of-extinction-hidden-immunity-idol-rules/ According to Probst, âWhen someone finds an idol, it is their idol, regardless of whether they hide it in their personal bag or bury it in the sand. An idol can never be taken from you. So, if another player discovered an idol that had already been found and then âhiddenâ in the sand, they could not use the idol, nor could they re-hide it or destroy it.â
Dwight and Jeanine were both aware of the rule that he couldnât hand back the idol. In an interview, he said she wasnât asking for the idol back - she was telling him it was going to be ok - they were both totally blindsided.
Interesting about once you find an idol it is yours. I wonder if a strategy could be to find an idol, leave it in sight or sloppily hidden so someone else thinks they found it and are safe, but they actually are not safe because even though they think they found it, it really belongs to someone else?
Based on last nightâs episode, plus some of the post-episode interviews/content on ew.com:
Jeanineâs nasty chin injury seems to have healed well - good.
I think all the players got a little too slap happy with pass-the-idol (to avoid KIP advantage).
Iâm not sure who is being especially strategic at this point or who would be a front runner among the remaining folks.
Iâm a little surprised that players arenât using the 1 in 6 option for safety at tribal. Jeanine seems to have been in a position where either A: She was safe enough that losing her vote wouldnât matter, or B: She was on the outs enough that a 1 in 6 chance was better than nothing. Maybe players donât like the âlookâ of playing that, even if they survive the tribal council.
Watching Ryan play both makes me happy and cringe. I just think he seems like a sweet person. I also love that he is embracing the experience and is thriving out there. However, he isnât in the game mentally. I just donât think some people have the strategic chops to play this game. I did think I saw a in his eyes during the tribal council this week and Iâm hoping he gets his head in the game.
I like Jeanine and was sad she got voted off. I didnât want James to go either. I was happy Owen won the immunity challenge. I am missing the crazy tribal councils of the last two seasons.
I am not missing them! I despised the getting out of seats and whispering. I prefer the paranoia when they donât have a clue whatâs going on. If you have something to say, say it in front of everyone. I actually believe that production put a stop to it.
I also like Jeanine
Wow, a lot of satisfaction for me seeing James go. I really felt he had a rough, controlling edge. Not too kind as he walked off either. Kudos to Nicole.
Sad to see Ryan go! I just loved his attitude and infectious smile. Was he good at the strategic game? Absolutely not, but I watched his exit video and he was just so happy to get the opportunity to see the ocean, fish and be on the show.
Just watched. Glad to see James go, not so much Ryan. I am Team Owen, and not just because heâs an adult adoptee from Korea (I have an Asian adult adoptee in my immediate family of two!). Now it will get really interesting!
