Any Survivor Watchers?

The endurance/torture contests (like the grill in the water) intrigue me much more than the “release the keys and get to the puzzle” types.

I will miss Kaleb and Sifu.

That’s ‘coz you’re a gym rat

For me, just the thought of working out is exercise enough

Dang, Caleb just didn’t stand a chance of lasting. The season just lost some oomph for me

I just gave myself a Thanksgiving treat, watching last night’s episode. I like the way they did the immunity challenge, and the person going home made sense to me.

This season is getting a little boring though because the tribe is so agreeable/on the same page about who is going. I didn’t see this elimination as a blindside, was surprised that the eliminated felt that way! Open your eyes!

I think the extra 30 mins is a bit too much. It seems like they spend most of the episodes strategizing and laying around. Rarely do you see anyone fishing, or hunting for immunity idols, or looking for any other sources of food.
Having a shorter season also eliminates the need for food really. Even having the survivors living and competing in boring street clothes has, in my opinion, diminished the show.

That’s not exactly riveting footage anyway

I love the extra minutes in the episode - I like seeing more of camp life.

Caleb still the :star: of the show…never have that many jury shots and captions this early in the game!

Another fun episode tonight. The ladies and bro night was fun to watch. I feel like this is now the turning point in the season and strong allies will start turning on each other next week.

Jeff’s empathy towards both Katurah and Jake last night was nice to see.

Emily’s response after winning the challenge. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:
Drew trying to be a bro. :muscle: :joy:

Emily is much better at hiding her strategy than at the beginning of the game. Are the others realizing that she is making these moves? She’s doing a good job ingratiating herself with others, stroking their egos, and making them feel like they are in the driver’s seat. If she makes it to the end, hopefully she will be able to sell herself without making others feel like they were duped.

I’m really surprised by Austin. How is his name not coming up at all? How is there no discussion about his idols? Do Katurah and Jake know that he has idols?

Is there a relationship brewing between Austin and Dee? Kendra mentioned it before she left, and we are seeing it in more clips. It reminds me of Elizabeth Beisel and Jack Nichting. They didn’t get together until Ponderosa and are now engaged.

I thought of you last night when Austin was fishing. :fish: :tropical_fish: :blowfish:

Good point!
He’s definitely a threat. My guess is Dee and Emily will get him out after a couple more people are voted out (probably Jake and Julie).

Also… Katurah’s response when Emily chose her was very sweet.

She’s played such a strong game. I wonder if that letter from her mom brought out her insecurities and got into her head during the immunity challenge.

If the 4 person alliance holds, they can continue to take out the others. I couldn’t believe the person voted out did not use an advantage. And agree that it is surprising that Austin’s name has not come up. Getting out Bruce was not a real strategic move because it is unlikely he would win against any of them.

Dee is a strong player and not sure she wouldn’t be as much of a threat as Austin.

I said the same thing about Katurah. I wonder what the issue is with her mom and whether the emotions from that carried into the challenge.

The extra minutes are great when there is a reward.

Yes reminded me of my post. At least they actually caught a fish.

The extra minutes have allowed us to see so much more. We saw so much vulnerability this episodes from many players. Love the extra time.

Bruce came very close to winning his 3rd challenge in a row. While challenge wins don’t get you the final win his wins combined with his annoying ways…I think they had enough of him!

I’m feeling more and more like maybe Emily makes final 3.

And I think a show-Mance is definitely brewing with Dee and Austin.

I love each time Jake gets another week. He is really interesting “character “ to me

Regarding Katurah, we store all sorts of stress in our bodies. I wondered if the particular nature of the challenge - arm strength plus swimming just went right to her physical weaknesses and then that messed with her head.
I didn’t think she was so afraid of swimming, it seemed like she was afraid of getting hurt. Maybe she just didn’t feel right.
I can’t believe Bruce didn’t play his idol.
Mama J is getting more interesting to me! So she will probably go next week.

Even though getting Bruce out might not have been necessary (nobody would vote for him if he made the final 3). It was something so wanted by both jury members and the players who are left, that I think Emily will score votes from having orchestrated that. Which makes me feel it was the right thing.
I totally get panicking about water. I don’t know how to swim and have an irrational fear of water. She may have been fine for other challenges involving swimming, and can swim fine, but if you get something in your head it is hard to shake it.

I listened to an exit interview with Bruce. He gave complete credit to Emily for blindsiding him.

He had no idea Katurah felt such deep disdain for him. He is working on building a relationship with her. I knew Katurah was annoyed with him, but I didn’t realize it was strong enough that they wouldn’t talk to each other after the game was over.
