The second drop-out seemed unexpected? It feels like there must have been more context that was not shown in the episode? Kind of weird.
In this exit interview, he made it sound like it was somewhat of an impulsive decision.
It sounds like the âlosingâ really grated on him and being back at tribal cemented the decision.
I look at survivor like a long distance road race (marathon, ultra) and a BIG part of finishing is overcoming the mental piece and pushing through. Survivor is mental from the start and if compounded by continual loss I can see how one could mentally be done.
Agreed. I also think nine days without fire is a long time. They only had fruit to eat.
Nine days without flint. Nobodyâs stopping them from making fire with sticks. And letâs be real, if I were going on Survivor, I would make certain I knew how to do that. Sort of like knowing how to drive a stick shift before competing on The Amazing Race.
True. They did show Brandon trying to start fire with a water drop on his glasses.
Finally got caught up on the last two episodes. One one week with the scrambled tribes and now we are going to merge?!!
One comment about last nightâs tribal councilâWOW!!!
A bunch of them were at tribal for the first time, and boy, did they get a show!
So if I understand correctly, the losing sub-tribe is now officially merged, but they miss out on the feast, correct?
Yes, they missed the feast. It was quite a tribal.
Survivor is my guilty pleasure. I could care less about the challenges but I love the interactions and watching people try to manipulate each other. Last night was a good one!
I think it stinks that the merge feast is held without the losing group. They made it to the merge too.
Interesting how the tribe that had fewer players after the merge did not initially take out a member of the opposing tribe to even things up. And that the stronger tribe voted out one of their own. Not the typical pattern.
Kind of knew that something weird was up as there was too much time left when they started the vote. Glad to see that person stayed.
I liked how they showed the others congratulating Kaleb. It is obvious that he is well liked.
I like Drew and Austin. I think they are good narrators. I think Katurah is a good story teller as well. I thought it was hilarious that she said that they donât need to know how to spell her name and egged on Bruce to use his leadership skills.
Good episode, i thought. Kaleb definitely timed his shot-in-the-dark right!
The challenges arenât that interesting to me as well, unless something funny happens. Theyâre very repetitive.
I actually canât believe Caleb was an unanimous vote, usually itâs like herding cattle since thereâs always a few strays. Iâm glad he got to stay in the game.
Good season so far.
My surprise with the unanimous vote was that even Emily voted for him. Had she not, and put down Jay, there would not have needed to be a second vote. But, I think she didnât want to put a target on herself by being the only dissenting vote.
I like how in one scene Emily says âthat is exactly how survivor worksâ I thought that was funny.
All I can say is WOWWWWWW.
What a moment for Caleb.
I didnât mind him before but Bruce is becoming an unfav.
Caleb wonât hold it against Emily for voting him. Emily is strategic and smart and the shot-in-the-dark could easily not have worked. I am glad she let him know what the tribe was planning.
I canât see the girls staying together. It is too big of a group.
Katurah is savvy, but I donât see her creating any close relationships.
I like Austin, but I think Dee is playing a good game. Earlier, they included the random clip about her toe, and now the quote about her toe winning her the million.
I think some challenges are fun to watch, especially when multiple skills are involved. But the pure physical endurance ones (like in the latest episode) are no fun. Theyâre basically a test of who can tolerate torture the longest
The one where they are trapped below a grill as the tide comes in gave me flashbacks of The bamboo cage in The Deerhunter.
