My D has been accepted to Syracuse, Engineering, and hopes to make the trek there soon to get more details about the program there. She did the generic campus visit last summer and like it overall, but wants to know more now about the specifics of the engineering program. She is leaning toward chemical or biomedical. Anyone out there an undergrad currently enrolled or parents that can speak to what they like / dislike about the program there?
Although I am not majoring in chemical or biomed, I am a current female student in the aerospace major. From my experience, I can say that I love this school. I think Cuse has a nice balance between academic and social life. I’ve made great connections with faculty and students at this school. There are plenty of research opportunities and the professors genuinely want everyone to succeed. We have two big career fairs throughout the year and the networking SU provides is great. Again, it’s really depends on how well your D liked the school environment but SU has great opportunities for everyone as long as they are willing to take them. There’s the women engineering overnight this Friday so if your D can attend, I would highly recommend it! Hope this helped! If you have any other questions, feel free to ask! Best of luck!
