<p>BinahLight, I visited Whittier recently. The food was remarkably good with plenty of choices. Everyone is friendly and the campus is beautiful, with a great library. Class sizes are small, students like the faculty. I was told that faculty is hired from the field in many cases so students get a practical and theoretical view of the subject. We went into the scholars building and it is very unstructured, with many students in discussion with each other and with professors, exactly what you would expect. I get the impression that you could take the easy way out if you want at this school, but that for the self-motivated, you could take your academics as high as you want--faculty is certainly there to do that.
