21st of dec that is

So from the other posts it seems like theyll let us know as soon as they have all our stuff?

I called yesterday because I sent in my college transcript before new years, but the page still doesn't show it as received. The guy said that they got it, but haven't looked it over yet, and they don't post it on the web site as received until they look it over.

So I'm hoping that they make a decision some time soon. The priority decision date is a little ridiculous.

I am waiting for it too, though unlike you guys I sent my transcripts later than you, only last week, so I hope that doesn't hurt my chances

i just checked my status they finally received my college transcript here's a timeline perhaps it'll help others:

Application sent around 12/1
High School Transcript 11/24
SAT Scores Already on file from last year
College Transcript sent on 12/21
Status Update on 1/14/08 saying that college transcripts received.

I hope this paints an outline for anyone wondering how long it will take for their status to get updated.

yeah im feelin like a slacker...definitely did not know they changed from a rolling admission to a january 15th deadline and this was kind of a recent decision. I didnt submit the actual application until jan 10th so i really hope that doesnt hurt my chances.
yeah their notification date is really ridiculously far away

jerseygirl02, as long as your stuff is postmarked before the 15th it makes the priority deadline.

oh that's cool (although I know the post wasn't directed at me, I had the same issue, I just mailed all by stuff last Monday and was afraid they weren't going to get it by the 15th)

yeah i was worried too and when i called the guy was saying that as long as it was in the office before the 15th your fine.

I'm really worry about it because I sent my college transcript long time ago like Dec. 19th 2007, this day was the date that I receiveda all my final grades. Of course, I go to university in Wisconcin;however, I still don't understand that why it hasn't be updated.

Other college in NJ already received it.
Should I call the Rutgers info if they received it?

Call them.

I just checked the page and it now says that they got my college transcript. It probably arrived sometime during the first week of january.

Hah, I've had nothing but problems when it comes to sending my transcripts. My high school transcript was sent twice, in fact, because apparently Rutgers has a habit of losing transcripts (not my words, this is what my high school guidance counselor said). Then my Rutgers Status wasn't updated for a month, so I got worried that they hadn't received my hs transcript. I sent them a polite email, they said my status would be updated within 24 hours (which it was, and they had my hs transcript- yay!).

But they didn't have my college transcript, and it was getting kind of close to the deadline. So I called my current college and politely asked if they had remembered to mail my transcript, considering that I had filled out a form in October and checked the box that said "Please hold request until current semester grades are in". The lady was all like "Yeah, we sent it." "When?" "Oh, November 14."

I'm a freshman, and the semester wasn't over on Nov. 14th (more like Dec. 20somethingth). So I can only imagine that they sent Rutgers a blank piece of paper. Rawrrgg. And then there was much running around, faxing a new request form, freaking out, worrying that I wouldn't have all my documents in by the deadline...

But now they have my college transcript (as of Jan. 17th) so I'm just waiting on a decision. Anyone know how long it takes them to make a decision for transfers? My hs GPA was a 3.3-ish (I'm not sure exactly) and my first semester college GPA was a 3.64.

The notification date for transfers was Jan. 10th and I wasn't notified until Jan 7th. So in some instances they like to make you wait. But seeing how the semester is starting on the 22nd I surely hope they notify you (although they may be closed Sunday and Monday). Best of luck.

how difficult is it to get into the rutgers if you have a bad sat scores in high school. I mean pretty bad...
Do they look at this? I had a college GPA about 3.46, but I was majoring in nursing.

guys i'm worried now my GPA is too low, oh gosh...SJLKS6, look at the admissions website perhaps SAT scores may not apply to you.

Well now that RU will be in session again on Tuesday, hopefully decisions will come in soon. Good luck to everyone.

I applied for Fall '08- sorry, I forgot to mention that. I'm still finishing out another semester at my current college, just because I think moving right now would be too hard. I really hope they don't make me wait until the priority notification date, which I think is April 1st or something. I'd rather know before then what my plans are for the fall.

Still waiting for them to get all my transcripts for fall 08 but i was wondering if anyone knew anything about transfer credits at rutgers? I'll have taken 30 credits by next fall but i have no idea how rutgers is on accepting credits from other universities.

I think if you're transferring from a community college in NJ there's a site you can go to and find out what credits will transfer.

My friend's mom works at a charter school run by rutgers and she said that as long as you earned above a C in the class and rutgers has an equivalent class then you should get credit.

yeah on the website it says as long as you have a similar class any grade with a C or higher transfers
