ok awesome...i just saw somewhere on there that they would only accept up to 6 credits toward your major and i will have completed 9 credits for my major before i get there so hopefully they'll count the third class as an elective or something? i'm transferring from a university out of state that is ranked about the same as rutgers so im hoping that they'll have pretty similar classes.

woah woah really? i'm taking 15 credits in my major can you post the link where you saw that?

I don't know if this is true for all majors but I want to go into the Journalism and Media Studies major in the School of Communication and I've already taken 3 of the courses for the same major here. Here's the page anyways - you might want to check out the pages for your majors just to make sure cause that's pretty important:

(It's about half-way down the page under Degree Requirements where it says Attention Transfer Students)

wheew i was worried that was all majors thanks for the link

anyone else still not heard yet? they've had all my paperwork for two weeks now and still nothing...

They've had my paperwork for two weeks and I haven't heard anything either.

Well I guess it's good news that NONE of us have had any word yet.

2 weeks !? ive had my stuff in since before christmas and no reply =/

I got all my stuff in the second week of December and haven't heard anything.

you think we're really going to have to wait until april to hear back from them? I have to sign up for housing at my school in march and if I dont put down a $250 deposit i wont get housing for next year (if I have to stay here another semester). And I really dont feel like losing $250... does anyone know if they usually wait UNTIL the priority notification date or if its completly random

i think its completley random. i know that the number of fall students accepted depend on the space available after regular applicants. so my guess is that once the priority notification for regular applicants is over, thats when we're gonna start getting answers since our notification date is after theirs... just a guess.

i wish they would answer already though. im going nuts.

yeah, that makes sense. Kind of sucks, but makes sense.

I also have to make a housing deposit and do the room draw lottery in mid march. I think that if they wait too long to notify me I'd just might as well as stay where I am.

yeah my housing stuff is due this week so its like umm yeah Rutgers wanna get back to me please?

Transfer applicants are more likely to attend if accepted than regular applicants, so why not admit them earlier...or at the same time?

i agree - i sent an email to an admissions officer just asking about the general transfer admission process. All she would say was that if you applied by the deadline then you will be notified by the deadline (not incredibly helpful). She also said that their average incoming gpa was a 3.2 and that they usually review applications in the order that they get them but if they cannot make a decision at first glance then they put it back into the pile to look at it again later. Well i know i'm out of state but damn im higher than a 3.2....accept me already!

i seriously can't wait till APRIL for a decision. and i agree, im well over a 3.2 ! this process is so annoying

I agree with njd, transfer students are more likely to attend RU than the "regular" applicants...but what can you do

I sent my stuff the first week of January and no response, it's my number one choice for transfer

woah when i called they were like average is a 2.8

My stuff has been in for nearly a month now and still nothing. I was kind of expecting to hear back like the freshman did (y'know, a week, two weeks, three at the most). But now I feel like my decision to go or stay is going to be made in an incredible rush just in order to make deposits on time.

It is also really screwing me over as far as finding a roommate goes... my current roommate would love to room with me again next semester but if I can't give her a definite yes or no then she's going to go find someone else.

I hope we all hear back soon.

I am a freshmen at Rutgers Camden. I'm applying for transfer for the fall of 08" just put in my application this week. Apparently for school to school transfers the notification date is not until June, which kind of sucks for me. I had a 3.75 GPA first semester. Hopefully I'll get in.
