are you coming from a CC? I heard that if you have an AA degree it's easier to get in. I am waiting as well, hopefully I will get in

Im coming from a university with 78 credits. I just spoke to a counselor (Bill russo)monday and he told me i have a good chance getting in. Bill Russo on the NB campus is the man. Ill be praying for everyone. People let us not forget this is not Princeton, its Rutgers

Im really starting to worry. Its been 3 weeks and no response. I read in the star ledger that the average SAT was 1230. It went up like 43 points than last year. This might be the toughest year to apply. Its easier for transfers though. Man im really nervous that I won't get in. Hajduk you applying to the NB campus. Whats the average GPA for transfers. My friend told me it was a 3.2. If your an admissions counselor and your evaluating a transfers applications, your basically looking for club involvement, GPA (min 3.2) class rank and grades. These are the critical points in assessing the applicant. Its easier for transfers because they dont need to submit the SATs. Good luck and keeping checking your status screen.

my GPA right now is 3.76, but I still need to complete 14 credits for an AA degree (which I should finish this semester, though the GPA will probably be a little lower).

According to my counselor, she said I should be able to get in, but I keep reading that it is very competitive to transfer to SAS for business.

you guys are making me nervous

But, I got rejected into Nursing in Newark.
I did get accepted in SAS

EBHSSAT, what year did you transfer from? Also, do you need a 3.7 or 3.8 do get accepted to SAS? Im transfering from my junior year and accounting classes brought my GPA down. I took heavy duty accounting courses ie. cost accounting, intermediate, ais. I have a 3.45 now but hopefully after my second semster, ill finish with a 3.59. Does anyone know the average GPA for transfers?

At what GPA do they start cutting applicants? I hope I dont get rejected. Rutgers is my first choice.

ron, i'm pretty sure it wouldn't be around a 3.7 i mean i was going to apply to UVA and I know UVA wanted like a 3.5 for transfers, overall UVA is much harder to get into. In my opinion I would say and I hope a 3.0

I agree crossover. Someone told me on this site that the average GPA for rutgers was a 3.2. I think rutgers will accept a B or B+ GPA and club involvement. I hope living in nj helps. Are you applying to SAS too.

i just hope they dont weigh high school or the SAT's heavily for me cause im only a freshman at a community college. my high school/sat's sucked but i have a really high gpa at CC. =/

I would imagine so i had a friend who had transfered in she had a 3.0 from a 4 year institution so lets just all stick it out and yeah i'm applying SAS as well i applied SEBS and Newark just incase but ideally SAS would be best.

I hope I get notified this week. My cousin got accepted in the mail before he got notified on the status screen. Has anybody been accepted yet? I should make a club on the facebook for nervous kids waiting to get accepted to rutgers. Good luck everyone.

i think the decisions will start coming this week, so check your online status everyday.

ron was your cousin a transfer?

No, he was a freshman

I have a bit of a problem. Im transfering as a junior and all my 4 semesters I had a A- B+ GPA except for my first semester junior year. I had a C+. I had a C+ because I was taking heavy duty accounting courses. I had two As, 1B and two Cs. I wrote a letter to the dean explaining that accounting is a highly technical field that did not interest me. Im now a management major and I plan to get a 3.5 for my junior second semester. I went to rutgers myself and asked a counselor to speak to an admissions counselor about my situation. He talked to her for 10 min and came back to me and said your great grades overshadow that low GPA semester. He told me I should be good. He said you can start eating again, start sleeping again. Then when I left his office, he shook my hand and told me again, I should be good. I have an overall 3.45. Do you guys think i should get in. I was taking cost accounting and accounting information systems. I hated it and was not good at it. Unfortnately, I backed out too late. I didnt want to withdraw and get 2 WDs on my transcript so I decided to stick it out. I hope this doesn't be the reason they reject me.

well when i went last year, when i was a freshman applicant, to see what my chances were and explain my embarassing high school grades.. they told me straight up that i wasnt going to get in... then i just went to me with admissions agan a month or so ago to transfer and after i they looked at my grades they said i should be okay.. and even thought they said i should be okay i still feel like im notpositive if ill get in or not. but then again, they told me pretty clearly iw asnt gonna get in as a freshman and thats exactly what happend. just gotta wait it out.... i feel liek you should be okay though. because ur over all GPA is pretty good from what you say and improvement is better than your grades declining.

Thanks driftingxdream. I see that there is hope. So they reassured you that you would be okay and you got in. Very positive story. How do you like Rutgers?

no no im sorry i just realised how bad my typing was in my last post. but what i meant was when i applied as a freshman applicant in my sr year in high school, they told me that i probably wouldnt get in and turns out that i didnt. they didnt sugar coat it they told me exactly how it was and told me clearly that i basically has no hope in getting in as a freshman.

right now, im a transfer student and im waiting for an answer and im in my first year of college at community. i went to meet with admissions a month or so back again and they saw all my college stuff and they said i should be okay and not to worry. BUT im still waiting for an answer, i dont know if im in or not for sure.

sorry about that. im so careless when i type haha
