Fall 2013 Transfers

Hello everyone :)
I applied February 21st to the SAS in NB. I'm currently attending RBS-Newark with a 3.35. I'm waiting on their reply and have my fingers crossed! My chances aren't so high because of my GPA but I have some hope. Has anyone else heard back yet or is waiting to be accepted?

Hey! I applied to RBS-NB from RBS Newark and I’m still waiting to hear back. Apparently I’ll hear back on March 15, which is soon so I’m getting anxious

That’s great! I’m really mad I missed the deadline for it, but then again my GPA is low so I doubt they would’ve accepted me since they require a 3.5. :frowning: Good luck to you though I hope you get in  It’s going to be a week tomorrow since I applied and it’s already driving me crazy! I check at least 3 times a day.

haha i feel you! I check at least once a day even though it clearly says I’ll find out on March 15. Is there a specific date that you’ll know by? and good luck to you as well :)

It says on or by June 1st! My friend told me that his friend applied Feb 1st and he already got in so I’m hoping for a quick decision too since I want to apply for housing. Do you plan on dorming or commuting?

I’m planning on dorming, that’s actually one of the reasons why I’m transferring to NB, why are u transferring?

I was accepted to NB-SAS and Newark Business but denied from NB-Buisness (Didn’t have the pre-reqs) with a 3.5 GPA with about 51 credits and will be completing my associates from a NJ community college. Good Luck everyone else!

When you transfer credits to Rutgers, does any of the grades transfer to your Rutgers Transcript and affect Rutgers GPA?

“When you transfer credits to Rutgers, does any of the grades transfer to your Rutgers Transcript and affect Rutgers GPA?”

No, the grades you earn outside of Rutgers do not factor in to your Rutgers GPA.

Wait where does it say when you will hear back by? All I saw was that all transfers will hear back before April 15th.

If you’re already in a Rutgers and doing a school-to-school transfer, it works differently than a transfer from a non-Rutgers school.

yeah where are you guys seeing you’ll find out by march 15th?, the website says all transfers hear back April 15th. Also I applied at the end of January and haven’t heard anything yet kinda getting worried, I have a 3.5 gpa at middlesex, and I’m in my second semester. I really hope I get in lol.

March 15th is the date for school to school transfers only, meaning current Rutgers students transferring from let’s say School of Arts and Sciences to Rutgers Business School-NB or from the Rutgers Newark/Camden campuses to Rutgers Business School. Transfers from other schools are different and have a different date.

I applied a few minutes ago to transfer to the school of arts and sciences at rutgers-new brunswick. I am currently at the Newark campus majoring in criminal justice. Have a 3.192 GPA and have completed 39 credits, doing 16 credits this semester. What are my chances of getting in?

Well their minimum GPA requirement is a 3.1, and you have that so you have a chance. Did you write a good essay on why you want to transfer? Some people don’t write one and still get in but I decided to write one anyways since my GPA isn’t high. Also I applied 2/21, and haven’t heard back yet.

are you applying from another Rutgers school?

I contacted RBS-NB admissions and they said that Newark business school credits aren’t accepted to NB so I’d have to retake 4 classes/12 credits, which is absolutely ridiculous since its the same school pretty much. After finding this out, not sure if I still want to transfer.

I was just accepted yesterday as a transfer(I’ve applied multiple times though…)

Community College GPA(70 credits? Associates): 3.06
4 year school where i’ve transferred to after i was rejected from Rutgers(6 credits, taking 12 more for spring before i transfer): 4.0

School accepted to: SAS, SEBS
Attending: SAS

Will be transferring as a junior/senior

Where can I check which credits transfer and which don’t?

For Rutgers NB you have to wait until the summer where they hold orientation session called STAR (something?) they will tell you what transferred, what didnt, what still needs to be taken, etc.
