I’m in the same boat (Awaiting Decision), and I agree it sucks. I don’t think it’s CSULB’s fault though, alot is riding on the upcoming proposed tax extensions in June. The CSU system, and CSULB won’t know how badly their budget will be cut until than.

I recently visited the campus, and grabbed a copy of their student newspaper, and it said that incoming Freshman had already been picked, but transfer students were still awaiting decision, so the fact that we haven’t heard doesn’t mean we aren’t in. (Good News)

I also read on the website under “Budget Central”, the worst and best case scenario, and apparently the financial situation is so serious that if the tax extensions aren’t approved and the chancellor takes a big chunk out of CSULB that the school may have to withdraw previous extensions of admissions to certain students. So the rollercoaster continues (Bad News)

I am really hoping things don’t work out like they did this academic year and the deny students, then send them an e-mail saying the funds were restored and they can come attend in spring, obviously after many students have decided to attend elsewhere.

I have been accepted into UC Riverside, CSU Northridge, and CSU Fresno, but am awaiting decision from UCLA, UC Berkley, and UCI. I also applied to CSU San Marcos and received an email saying I was admitted but because the budget does not allow I have been placed on a waitlist where there is no guarantee I’ll be admitted. CSULB is my first choice and I am really hoping it works out, but I share the same frustration as May approaches ever closer.

FYI, according to the CSULB website the deadline for admission notification says May 1st, but on the PowerPoint about the budget it says best case scenario is they let students know by June whether they are admitted or not. Worst Case=Later

Good luck to all, I hope we all get in.
