Any word from Brown?

To all of you who applied for transfer admission to Brown.

Have any of you recieved a letter/notification/any word whatsoever from them?

I have not.

I have not yet received any confirmation of my application.-

nope. nothing. it make me mad!!

A friend received a call for an interview for RUE about 2 weeks ago.

RUE is different.

kdanieli.

Your friend already did the interview?
Do you think that interviews are a good sign? was it on campus or alumi
someone told me that interviews for RUE were only to finalists.

Yes, she had the interview. It was on the phone with a professor on the RUE admissions committee.

Well I didn't receive a call for interview....So disapointed.
Someone knows when they will notify RUE applicants? If it's going to be by letter or e-mail?

Here's what I have for Brown Decision Dates:

Transfer Mid-May
RUE May 1 (according to old site, where other stuff is out of date, so this may be too)

We know when the notification date is...we're just concerned because we've recieved absolutely no word since we submitted our apps.

um, i answered the guy in the post before mine. he asked for the date.

my friend received no mail or email verification of the app. -- only received the call for the interview a couple of weeks ago.

Did you all apply to RUE?

zebedeu- I didn't receive a call to make an interview. I think that it is VERY bad. I read somewhere that they will contact ALL finalists.

Emangelik- Did you get the interview?

kdanieli- there were any sign of likeky acceptance in your friend's interview?

BTW I'm international(ASIA) so i don't think they will make an international interview over the phone, right?

I'm applying for TRANSFER, not RUE

Nah, I haven't heard a word. Admissions decisions alone won't be given out until May/June! They're still busy waiting for reply cards to trickle in from incoming freshmen.

Does this years freshmen admission have an effect on transfer admission?

Sure it does. If the yield percentage is lower, I think transfers have better chances, though it does really depend how many students Brown takes off from the waitlist at the end!

i find that dynamic really interesting... as you pointed out i guess they have to navigate between choosing to take X number off the weight list vs taking so many more transfers. although i assume that they have a predetermined target number for their freshman class...

Right, and from what I've heard/read, they have a roughly predetermined number for their transfers as well.

Mid May guys
