Anybody choose jhu over cornell?

Hey, anybody here do exactly what the title says? These are my top two choices when i apply in the fall and am having the hardest time comparing the two. I visited both, went to info sessions and the like. However, methink it's best to here it from people that are students at hopkins or were accepted. So... did you do this, what did you plan on studying and why did you go to jhu over cornell?
thanks

yupp i did. im gonna study chemistry and international relations. academically these schools are about equivalent but cornell was just way too big and too cold. jhu has a much closer feel and its in a city. cornell is literally in the middle of nowhere.

yeah same here too
i was confused whether i should apply to hopkins or cornell for fall 2006 ED
but im planning to apply to hopkins ED and cornell RD

um...Cornell does win in cross-admits head to head. If you search through old threads, you will find a publication showing that Cornell wins more than 80 percent of the time in cross-admits between JHU and WUSTL.

point me to that thread collegekid.. i'd like to see it.

take it with a grain of salt, the cross-admit "study" is over represented by NE kids and high schools, so a preference for NE college is a no-brainer.

I chose JHU over Cornell. #1 because Hopkins gave me $21,500 per year scholarship, and #2 because it's way easier to get flights from Chicago into Baltimore than into Ithaca.

smeds.. ha! it was a no brainer then :)
