I'm just asking for recommendations in biology (including molecular, bme, etc etc) research this summer. I'm willing to work very hard full time everyday for free, but the problem is I don't have any previous research experience... I know that I shouldn't even desire a publication at this point, but some people online said they somehow got published on their first research assistantships (how??). Do you happen to know any professors that give co-authorship to any of their undergrad students at all? Because when I see the publications by them they often seem to not include students at all while there have been undergrad lab members...

Ok, so I did research this summer… the easiest way to get into research is to show an interest in what the professor does. I dunno if you know, but there are couple of research oriented programs at SBU. URECA and REU… Now you will need recommendations for both, but like i said… just talk to the profs, see what they are doing, and go to their office hours… thats the most important part.
