cuz mine does

Hey, me too. And my EFC considers that my sister is attending USC. Sucks to be in the middle class sometimes.

yup. my EFC=my dad's income

to everyone on a tight budget at usc, are there plenty of opportunities for free entertainment on or near campus? what do you do for fun on the weekends that is free or almost free?

My EFC > parents' combined income.

Huh?

I had to do FAFSA for some merit scholarships, so I just sent it to every school even though I'm kind of embarassed by how big the number is :P.

^^ are you sure you didnt make a mistake??

how'd you get your EFC already?
You submitted ALL your tax forms way early?

hmmm my mom got her tax forms like 3 weeks ago...

they also tell you when you turn in your fafsa.

Yes, our EFC is also greater than family income. Quite a bit. It's because they assume that a percentage of the student's and parents' assets will be used to pay for college, not just income. The formula assumes a percent of student's income and assets and a lower percent of parents' income and assets are available. If you have low income but high assets, you get a ridiculous income:EFC ratio.

but your Fafsa EFC is not the same as USC EFC is it?

no it is not

Yeah, my EFC sucks too. According to FAFSA, my family can afford to pay full tuition for USC...but we know that we definitely won't be able to, without selling everything we own =P

I've heard that USC is more generous with financial aid...is this true for anyone? It's hard to decide between UCLA and USC...when both are equally good (though each has its own unique points), but one is half the price of the other, haha. How do middle class families pay for USC?

do you have your USC EFC's?

with blood, mostly.

lol, that doesn't sound too nice. :P

in my interview, the director of rhp said "you will get your financial aid package by some date and you then have 1 month to figure out how to pay for USC before you have to give us a final answer. you can try to sell your brother or something..."
haha

lovelyday, MINE TOO.
it's kind of ridiculous, considering my parents have been saving since i was six and have maybe half the amount it would cost me for 4 years.
have to love the fafsa.

yeah i'd be lucky if i get 500
