Anybody in here?

Haha thanks. My finaid offer was horrible, actually, which was really disappointing because it is my first choice. I have a whole stack of scholarships I am applying for through my school. Are you in New England?

Yes, I live in CT. But I'm actually going to see providence again tomorrow!
I'm sorry to hear about your aid package, but I'm sure you will get scholarships from around the area. I have been applying to ones through the school too, and also from the local hospital, which was esp. for students who were going into medicine. But the school scholarships can really add up. Last year a friend of mine got around 5,000 just from our little school!

I'm pretty sure I'm not going to be a Friar anymore. It sucks, but it's just not worth taking on 40k of debt a year.

where are you going dank08? Hobart?

Possibly, it depends. I might try to get a rotc scholarship at PC but I am not really sure.

So I decided to go to PC! Doing the day visit really made me want to go. And the civ class was really boring, but the girl said it was the worst one that she has been to, and it was pretty short.
But I am so excited!

Did anyone else decide if they are going next year as well?

KCB: What was it about the day visit that helped make your decision?
D is still deciding between PC and one other college. She will be doing a day visit next week. What did you do on your visit and who did they pair you with? Was it a student in your major? D was invited into the honors college and asked to be paired with someone in the HC so she could see what the DWC class was like..... history is definitely not her favorite subject! Since we visited PC during the summer, she is hoping that being there when classes are in session will give her a better feel for the school. She has a prior committment and unfortunately cannot attend the Family Day scheduled for this weekend. Congrats on making your decision and good luck at PC!

Peachy267--I also could not attend the family day, but I definitely think that the day visit was better. I was paired up with a sophomore girl who used to major in biology, which I am interested in, but switched to major in health care profession. I attended a Civ class, on theology, and I have to say it was very boring. However, I expected it to be much longer and I definitely think that I can handle it just fine even though history is not my favorite either. I also went to a health care profession class and it was very interesting with a really great teacher. I thought the day visit was much better than just a regular tour because tours are usually scripted, and with one on one with a student you can ask any question and you will get an honest answer. I also got the feel of the students in PC by meeting some of her friends which all were really nice to me. Day visits are definitely worth it.
What other school is it between for your daughter?

Hi everyone!
I also decided to enroll PC this year. Does anyone here also join the Honors Program?

$29,000 dollars? I only got $3000 in loans.....
Regardless, I'm headed to PC. premed123, how was the math student you shadowed? I'm going in as a declared math major and going to try to double major in either economics or finance once I get there.

She was nice, she didn't seem like the typical PC student (not to stereotype, but was NOT into the party scene, did not have perfectly straight, smooth blonde hair and all designer clothes) and she was very intelligent. Sorry I can't tell you more, I honestly can't remember much; my visit was in October.

Haha thats good to know.
