Anybody know of any product that was successful in getting rid of the smell of pot?

My daughter is once again in the situation of having a neighbor’s pot smell getting into her apartment. She has a pretty severe allergic reaction to pot smoke, and actually moved apartments this year to get away from the problem in another place. Pot is legal in Boston, so there is only so much landlords and condo associations can do.

I am having her landlord work with the other landlords to talk to their tenants as well as looking into the apartment’s HVAC system (the smell seems to come in from one specific vent). These buildings are old, so I know the insulation is probably poor and the apartments are not very sealed off from each other.

I just purchased an air purifier that is supposed to help, but was also looking at other odor eliminating products. There seem to be some gels that claim to get rid of pot smell.

Has anybody have any success with these products? Any that you could recommend?

I think a HEPA filter is your best bet, and it sounds like you got one already. Have it sized such that it cleans the room air several times per hour.

Agree. Get a very good HEPA filter. I can’t stand pot and cigarette smoke, and I feel your daughter’s pain. So sorry she ran into the same problem at her new place.

She could periodically run an ozonator, but no living beings or plants can be inside when it is running and for 30-60 after

We recently bought a used car that had a lingering cigarette smoke smell. I bought a 2-pack of little gel things on Amazon for maybe $15 and put one in her car. Didn’t work overnight, but the smell was gone after about two weeks. I do not know if it would work for a bigger space like an apartment, though. Also, it smells like a mix of fruit/flowers when you open it, but this smell is now also gone. The ones I bought were “Ozium” brand.
