I always thought my school was ghetto, but it has 15 AP classes, so not nearly as bad (AP-wise) as some of you guys’.

zoned to the ghetto school, but i go to a jesuit catholic school. no regrets. although swagging to school would be great every now and then

Our school is average for out state, with more than 60% continuing on to a four year college. However, we are surrounded by state of the art, academically powered schools, which make us the ghetto. The reason? All of the first generation immigrants, aka the real world, are all clustered in to our school district, while elitist, more educated people either move out of the district or send their kids to the catholic school. But we definitely have motivated students here, too. We always have Ivy acceptances, it’s just most prefer to go to the state flagship. To add insult to injury, our football team went 1-8 last year, and just got beaten 42-0 this Friday.

-------------------------------------------If it is to be, it is up to me…

btw, I researched my school. It seems that exactly 5 students have gone to harvard, exactly one for each decade. So far, no body from the 2000 to 2011. Is it my turn? Yes.

My school’s pretty ghetto. We have a 60% graduation rate. Although we offer around 15 AP’s usually only 3 kids pass them in the entire school, although all the classes have over 10 students in them. However, we do get that student once every 3 years that goes to Harvard/MIT.

I’d say my school is lopped right in the middle of ghetto and “prestige”. There are 1 or 2 kids every year that get accepted into Ivy Leagues with the latter going to UC Berkely, UCLA, or the likes. However, it doesn’t negate the fact that a little more than half of the population is getting a GPA of 2.5 or less :/

@Bobtheboy CSIHSIS already cleared it up, but yeah, you only need the Algebra and Biology regents to graduate. Chemistry, Geometry, Physics, Trig, etc. are totally optional. Sad, but true. If you take the Chem, Geometry and Spanish regents, you get an ‘advanced’ regents diploma. -.-

I’m taking Physics and Trig too, should I get an advanced advanced diploma? XDDD

Oh, and the graduation rate at my school is 64%? My principal told my class (2013) that he wants an 80% graduation rate…

He’s going to be very disappointed.

Advanced regents diplomas are so easy to get they shouldn’t even be called advanced. Also, you don’t need a language test for that diploma anymore.

All I have left to get mine is US History And if I get above an 89.5ish, I’ll have an advanced regents diploma with honors :P

Haha oh that’s right! This year is the first year they take it out. Hahaha wow. XD I only need the USH and English regents and I have an advanced regents diploma. XD And so far I qualify for a regents diploma with honors too. XD
