Anybody predicting the CR Curve?

-3 = 800 never helps me because I never omit

I omitted like 7 questions and got probably like 5 or more wrong. Score? CR definitely killed my score.

So right about now I’m thinking I got ~10 wrong, ugh. Any projected score? Mid/lower 600s probably?

CrzyGmer: -10 would be -12 raw, so that would get you a 660-670 assuming a normal CR curve.

d3x: 7 omit and 5 wrong would yield a -13 raw, so 650-660 assuming a normal CR curve.

I agree, CR was very hard and definitely brought down my score.

@alihaq, wait what!? What would a -7 to -9 be…? lol as long as its over 680 this SAT was a success, even though im retaking for that 720 + CR

7/9 wrong or omitted?
-7 wrong would yield -9 raw and 690-700
-9 wrong would yield -11 raw and 670-680

The CR section was the only part of the test that I cared about. I got a perfect score on Math in January and 650 in CR so I was aiming for 700+. Judging by the posted answers, I omitted 2 and got another 6 wrong. So my score will definitely be above 650 (even higher if the curve is nice). You think it’s possible I got 700+ with 2 omitted, 6 wrong? It’s crazy because I got a 36 on Reading on the ACTs. I hate the SAT CR section.

^ samesies bro. Last sat 680/800/780. All I cared about was the CR and I managed to mess it up lol. ACT reading was a 34 but its the vocab that messes me up. of the like 8 I missed, 4 were vocab, 2 stupid mistakes on comprehension, 2 I just plain missed

A score of 700 is definitely possible, assuming that you are sure that you only missed 6 questions and omitted 2.

BTW, UVA is a school that is more geared towards your GPA than your SAT score. So I might advise you to stop worrying about this and make sure your Junior year grades are up to par. ;)

what’s -14 looking like… << >>

-14 raw = 640-650
14 wrong (meaning -17 raw) = 620-630

Yeah, all of my friends asked me why I was taking the SATs again. I would have been fine with a 1450 had it been balanced. But seeing as colleges take the best from each section, I might as well have taken it again. I really hope I get 700+. 1500s would be soooo nice…either way i got a 35 on my ACT composite so I’m not too worried.

hopefully good, i need to do good on cr this time and hope there is a VERY generous curve

Oh wow, 35 is really good. No wonder your friends were so surprised.

-14 raw = 640-650
14 wrong (meaning -17 raw) = 620-630

whats the difference between the two. -14 raw is how many wrong. im confused ??

Joeybay asked my question.

-14 raw means that you omitted those 14 questions OR you got some wrong and some omitted. For example, 8 wrong and 4 omitted would be a -14 raw, because 8 wrong adds an additional -2 off (1/4 point off for each question missed) and the 4 omitted would be another -4 so -8 + -2 + -4 = -14.

-14 wrong means you incorrectly answered 14 questions, resulting in an additional penalty of 3 points (-1/4 point for each wrong question) so it would leave you with a -17 raw.

what’s -6 (-8 raw) looking like?

ACT Reading: 36
PSAT CR: 80

SAT CR: 710, 720, 700 (took it 3 times)

…
