Today March 31st, a big envelope from Brown’s admission office just landed in our maibox.
Daughter is at school until 2:27pm and does not have cell phone.
I will not open the envelope myself.
Still, has anybody else in Rhode Island or Southern Mass received a big envelope from Brown today???

Lol already? Congrats to your D :D

Oh my god. Congratulations!!!!! -swells with envy-

Well does it say congratulations or anything on the outside??? She must be in or it wouldn't be a package - it would just be a letter. Congrats to your family.

congratulations ^^

I got the small rejection envelope today, so yours is definitely an acceptance- congrats!

I want my big package >< lol

Tealberry - where are you located??

I'm in Massachusetts.

AVos,
You made me laugh...you're just like me...I would never open her mail, but I would be so excited and dying to know. I would also say 2:27 instead of 2:30. I think it is a very good sign for your daughter. This process is so hard, it was great to feel your excitement...congrats and bravo for not opening her letter...I know how hard it is!

ACCEPTED!!!
I did not open the envelope:-)
Her sister and I drove to the school and found her in the lunch room. She opened the envelope (which had no special message on the outside).
No fridge magnet in this one, but a nice decal.

Congratulations :)

Avos,

I would drive to school too! You are just like me. I am smiling! Is Brown her #1? You probably ruined her chance of getting any work done at school, but who cares...she got into Brown!

Do you live in Rhode Island?

OK, congrats to all - who is going to be the first on "accepted" RD thread - LOL!!!

Yes we live in Rhode Island.
Brown was not her nbr 1, more like an afterthought to add a "real reach" school. So, she never really looked at the Brown (if you live in RI, you just assume that you know enough;-) and she knows a lot more about Middlebury, Smith, MHC and Wellesley.
Financial aid might make the difference.

I GOT IN!!!! I was so confused and surprised when I saw the letter, and I was holding a million things as I picked up the mail, and I was dropping everything in an attempt to open the letter and then I ran into my house and my cleaning ladies were there and there were cords everywhere and they were in the room where I usually put down my stuff so I ran into my kitchen and just dropped everything onto the floor, picked up the envelope, took a deep breath...

SOOOOO EXCITED!!!! It's definitely one of my top 3 schools, and I could totally see myself ending up there! I'm SO excited!!!

One question for accepted students: did you all get a few lines in your acceptance letter specific to you / your interests? There were a few sentences like "we feel that the school is a perfect match for your interest in mathematics" etc. and I'm just curious to know if everyone had a similar thing, or if some applicants just got a generic letter.

Congrats to all!!!

i've also been accepted.

words can't express how excited i am, lol.

tlowell91: did your letter have a few personalized sentences?

Loved the driving to school with the sibling - you just created a lifetime memory!!
